New 773 front Dunlop would you run it ?

How good of a sand tire is it ? And how does it stack up against the new sand front tires ?  I pu a used Dunlop scoop they should pair up nice right .  A sand tire is a sand tire right.

I would sell it to someone who restores bikes and wants a period tire.

Tires do have a sell by date...

I bet if you run it, It will split all of the way around wear the top of the bead meets the knobbies

I ran older 98 490 front , 737 rear on deep square holes hard pack in 22,23 . I did throw my ice tires away that cracked the bead tho.  I also hv a new 756 rear looking to sell.  I burnt a new 756 up on hard pack in 22 pretty cool feel of the oem tire. Probably run my mid soft front & hope we get down to the hard in corners to cut the insides.

The rubber gets hard and the knobs peel off on old tires.  I loved the D756 so when they quit making them I bought a bunch. After I would guess 5 years even an unused one wouldn't hold up.

I wish they would bring back the 756. I grew up on that tire and loved it. If they fired up the old molds and did a run of like 1000 they would sell out. Just make a limited run every year.

I ran a new 756 rear in 2022 it worked great .  Other tires from 98,99 a 737 rear , 490 front on a hard pack square holes track . I,ll run them some more this yr .  The tires are in below zero in winter . I,m a little cheap on some stuff being 1/2 Dutch .  Speaking of tires my mechanic pal took me for a ride in a 64 Vet 327 fi 360 hp converted to carb with a solid lift big cam a x race car drivers car 200k.  We laid rubber big time in 3 gears , ran out of street .  The tires on that Vet are more dangerous than a old Mx tire.

Yes. My dad buys any 773 that pops up, and I buy any 756 rear that pops up. They out last a brand new geo max by far, as far as a 756 rear no but, 4 glorious ride days I got out of my last one, cured the front end wiggle on my 14 yz450f. If u want to sell either, I'm in. 5302624596 my names chris

The side knob pattern on a rear 756 is much different than the newer tires. Works well in rocky condition at lean. Do I munch the center up? Yes. Do i also munch the center of a mx32 mx33 or mx34? Also yes. Only get maybe 6 rides max out of those. The motosport artrax mxpro rear tire is pretty damn good, and I get 8 rides out of those. . And I'm usually pretty picky. Definitely outlast a dunlop rear. When I got money hanging out my ears I buy dunlops but that's less and less lately so LOL

Couple years ago I bought a set of wheels from an 05 KTM 525 that was never ridden and sat in an office. You bet your ass I rode with them antique Metzelers. They were like riding on forklift tires, but good enough for a few days of playing.

I used to run the 742 at every track. Even southwick. Best front tire imo

That's what I was thinking? I'll be there first thing as the gates open tomorrow morning. The weather is looking sketchy for Saturday, but should be a good time.

No Xmas track in the UP of Mi.  I looked a few weeks ago Sunset Ridge didn’t list 40or 50+ for this weekend thought that was odd.

I have a brand new 756 r tire hanging on my wall.  It's probably from 2002/2003.

AT81 front looks just like a 756, doesn’t work the same though.

And no, don’t run an old 773. Knobs will probably start peeling off within 30 minutes if you ride hard. 10 minutes if you’re a double booster porter type, lol!

Temperature is a good point as UV and temperature are the driving force behind an elastomer hardening.

I loved them, that said the MX34 is pretty good and lasts much longer.  I change my front tire due to carcass getting old now instead of the knobs coming off now.
