This guy was always in the attack position!
He did ok. 🤣. He may still qualify for a national on an 82 yz 125 if he was pissed off enough about something.
Ha!
Nice ripped deep loamy track conditions!
NOT!
Looks like Unadilla before they ruined it.

I raced the USGP there in 1984 and that is the way I remember it. After practice though, it was torn up and was mulched in grass from banner to banner.
Yeah, you can see the determination in his eyes...
Hey I know that guy on the right.....
Is that you?
He still hates Glover as well as anyone else he competed with, even to this day. Intense may not be the most accurate descriptor.
Alan King?
Yup the original Big Al…
It’s Alan King
He said that bike was slower than a "Stinkin' 80"!
One of D14's finest
And to the right of Alan is?
those pesky Scott boot buckles lol
Magoo
Pit Row
Southwick 78. First practice. Broc in tow. Both won that day.
For Hannah posts I always like sharing this short bit from my second interview with Bob for "The Motocross Files" back in 2005...Too good.
Enjoy maybe for the 2nd time.
Can't deny Hannah's impact and intensity, but Marty was the guy I always wanted to see out front when I was a kid. Besides being really fast, he seemed like such a good guy off the bike.
It's a shame Honda sent him all over the world instead of just staying focused on the US series at his peak.
Lightning bolts on the helmet for life.
Hannah said "no way I would have beat marty in 1976 if he did not have to race in europe". Bob had tremendous respect for Marty Smiths speed.
Who the hell is Bob Hannah ?
A few weeks ago when it was Heikki Mikkola's birthday, I went looking at pictures of him, and was reminded of the 'Bump' number plates Yamaha used for a time - seeing them on Hannah's bike again showed me why I liked them so much .
Here's both of them, with said plates at the MXdN. With, Heikki about to pass Hannah (there was just so much BS about how Hannah was going to slaughter Heikki prior to the MXdN) and Heikki beat him, both Motos. After the event, the JT 'Throne Ad' was quite the thing, and Hannah showed a lot of magnanimity, and, some humbleness, with that :
As someone noted - it seems so many pictures of Hannah, with Scott Boots, has at least one Boot Strap flapping in the breeze! I had a set - they cost me a small / medium fortune here in OZ - and I took to putting a bit of duct tape on each strap. They weren't a good thing for someone with 2 ruined knees, that's for sure. I think they are up in the roof / rafters of my home workshop, where I've a whole bunch of 'things' I have to send up one of my Grand Nephews up there, to find (all) the 'treasures' hidden up there, some day. They may, or may not, survive the Monsters that live up there........
Me at Red Bud in 79 or 80
