Good Lord, every one of those bikes are so freaking beautiful! Awesome awesome pictures. The old factory 2-strokes are just works of art.

I know it basically ruined the sport, but the proto YZM400 was unbelievably trick. A true works bike in every way. By most accounts this bike was way faster (but more fickle) than the production version the next year.

I was at Henry's a couple months ago doing a interview with him. He has that bike and also his 93 CR125. The CR was in a pile of parts! I wanted to put it back together right then and there!

Every time I've seen this bike all I can ever think is "wtf were they thinking when they thought of this?" Good thing they drug test their engineers at honda these days,

Can't remember what year, think it was early 2K (maybe 2003) and that it was Antonie Meo who rode it for Jan De Groot Kawasaki (not setting the world on fire).

1980 CZ 250. Falta won a couple of motos in GP's on this bike in that year. Last time a CZ won I think.

My favorite: 1995 factory honda

I think it looks better with more red and nicer tank graphic and seat cover than the 96..

As usual, bozo Hammerhead not knowing what he's talking about. This is Ron Lechien's 1985 RC125...not Omara's 1984. Get your fact's right bozo.

I dont have any photos to share, but I have seen that bike completely dissembled. The cases, the barrel were works of machinist art. The shock was amazing. The expansion chamber was freaking fantastic. It was the little things like the seat foam was from an XR600 shaped to fit the CR and the tail pipe. WOW. Hand laid carbon and kevlar. From the hand billet pinch bolts holding the axle to the billet axle stays. Wow. I would have to say that is a favorite. The 450 was nice, but minus the handy work. Maybe the pure mag carb. That was neat. Im told that bike pulled like a thumper. From bottom to top, smooth as a baby's ass.

Here are my favorites.....nothing will ever compair to the 1980's works bikes. I took these at RedBud in 1984.

Since I had a production '84 KX-125...Jeff Ward's factory works KX-125 was my favorite at that time.

Johnny O's 1984 RC125 with his mechanic Jim Felt looking over it. It was a work of art!

David Bailey's mighty works 1984 RC-500.

The complete TEAM HONDA line up for the 1984 Outdoor Nationals! Oh to have those bikes now!

Why don't we see manufacturers moving the tanks down into the middle of the bike? Wouldn't that be a good way to centralize the mass? Is it because of the heat or the need for a fuel pump? Wouldn't you get the best air flow if the airbox was right behind the front number plate?

My all time fav. Thanks for posting. The 2-3 year run Hannah had on those OW's was incredible. One of the last successful air coolers. Suzuki had a couple in 80 and 81, then watercoolig hit.

Omg! Forgot about those. They were so hot. If I remember right nobody made a white Honda tank and they were actually painted. Anyone confirm that? Those Honda's ripped too, tons of power for the time. I was always a heavy kid and prob weighed over 220lbs at 14yrs old and my buddies CR125 would still rip even with my fatass on it.

A buddy of mine made a replica and pro-circuit ported it and sold him some graphics and told him the tanks were painted and covered with clear # plate material.
Honda came stock with white tanks in 1992! This is a 1992 Peak bike with stock white tank.

Honda engineers didn't develope this front-end, a guy named Ribi did. It was on Roger' D's factory Suzuki GP bike first. I think he won a GP with it. He asked Honda to buy the rights to it and improve on it. It work well, but cost to much to produce. What you're not seeing is one of the trickest works bike ever, the twin cylinder RC125. Another thing the FIM/AMA killed, saying it would raise the cost to race too much. These are the same fools that killed the simple to maintain 2-stroke with a foolish displacement rule. Bikes after 1985 where all production based and not really trick compared to real works bike. The only people who made out on the production rule is the graphics companys! Honda also tested a trick automatic CR.

I loved the old Honda of Plano Shark energy bikes. I have a ton of pictures on my old computer. If anyone has more pictures please upload them. Would love to see them.
