Jeremy Martin retiring like a badass.

This dude and his brother are going to keep giving back to the community as well with that track and amateur races...couldnt have happened to a better guy. 

It’s a race that will go down in history.  

That race had me on the edge of my seat the entire moto! He has been one of my all time favorite riders. This couldn't have happened to a more deserving, humble person. I have been hoping he would get a chance to show his true speed and determination.  I met JMart at a test day with FC in 20 at the Wick. He was doing 30 plus 2s on a hammered track with it being 95 and muggy as hell. Amazing how strong these top athletes are. Like others have said his name will be brought up for years to come when a top guy is retiring.

Man I had tears in my eyes multiple times during JMarts ride and interviews yesterday not gonna lie. And I’m pissed because I totally forgot to put him on my fantasy team even tho I reminded myself to do that 🤣🤣

Those Martin boys were brought up the right way.  Great Job on parenting, John and Greta!

This is how many of these kids are raised in rural MN.   Humble, hardworking and respectful.  

Makes me proud to reside in the same state. 

Dungey was raised the same way. Schmit as well.  

My son and I were talking as we drove home from Spring Creek yesterday; we questioned why there was never the thought of the Martin Family hosting a Des Nations.   I know that time of year could be 90 and sunny or 10 degrees and a blizzard. 

This family could pull it off.  Beautiful facility.  


 

I wonder if it comes down to getting that many people in and trucks prevent it from happening?  Highway 14 is so curved and hilly, it’s slow.

Just caught up with the races on Peacock with my old man and said the same thing. Most of us started riding with our family and to see him end his career like that, with his family, at his actual home track, is unforgettable ❤️

Re: MXoN at Millville. In a somewhat recent interview with Alex Martin, he said that he would love to host the event there when he and Jeremy are the ones running it. It sounded like John isn’t as open to the idea due to Infront’s demands but the kids sound like that would be a dream goal of theirs. So maybe someday!

It was epic. Can't wait to watch his last lap another 100 times. 

Did anyone see what his butt patch said, they tried to show it on the broadcast but I couldn't make it out?

Absolutely incredible ride. And those starts. Must feel like a dream for J Mart. I hope we get more of him in the media, love hearing the guy talk.

Just came here to say that was fucking awesome.

I was telling my son that I didn't think Jmart could hold off Deegan. He asked me if Deegan would just "let him have" the moto win, since he had the overall wrapped up and I said I didn't think so; Haiden is too competitive. Then, with about eight minutes to go, I told him, "If we get closer to 2-3 minutes plus 2 laps, and Deegan hasn't closed these 3 seconds (or passed him,) maybe there's a chance. Lo and behold, the gap started growing! I was on my feet the whole last few laps, imploring Jeremy to stay on two wheels and finish it off. What an awesome cap to an awesome career! 

Like JT said, this was a movie script ending.  Unbelievable.  Fantastic  to watch, and like others have said, this will be talked about forever  in the sport.

He was delivering  packages  for UPS last December for fun, LOL!  Love that guy!

I cried when I watched it. I stood on my couch screaming for the guy. I feel ok saying this here since I can hide behind my screen name but it triggered something for me. I grew up racing motocross then went on to have a semi successful career road racing. I am 33 now. Watching J Mart pull that off reminded me of what I grew up doing and that I still believe in my original dream of getting a pro mx license. I don't care if I can qualify for the race, I 100% believe in my ability to get the license. I already got the OK from the wife to go for it. I'll never be J Mart level but maybe I can do SOMETHING with my life lol

Real talk, this was the most special thing that's going to happen all of outdoors, IMO. Huge tip of the hat to the whole Martin family for the mark they left in this industry. It's very well and hard earned. 

I think we forget how stacked both classes are and being just a tad off on setup and confidence can put you outside the top 10. He was battling with Jordan Smith and Forkner at Pala.  Now Jordan is usually 5-10 and Forkner just logged his best result at 9th. That’s why I think it’s funny when people say oh so and so should hang up the boots because of a bad year or some bad races. It really is 1-2% here and there between a podium and a bad finish. 

Isn’t it funny that Herlings was called a sandbagger and worse because he was riding for too long in the MX2 class yet a guy that never got out of the class all of a sudden is a hero? Don’t get me wrong, it was great to see him win his last race, maybe it also shows that diperboy isn’t as fast as you might think,and the class is not as strong as it used to be. I just don’t like the different standards specially from some media members…. 

I watched a video the other day of Herlings where they interviewed him. He seems like pretty level headed guy. 

Would be fun to see him ride in the states again. 
222 is a class act as well. Lets keep that guy here for a couple more years. 
Lets grow the rider purse here in the states. There is a way. 

mmm I am not Saying because Jmart did well the 250 class is shit. But I do believe this is the weakest 250 class in Ama for a long time. I find myself frustrated, especially last year. But these guys arent it. Deegan simply out fitnessed everyone last year. And it wasn't Blake Baggett like where he drops a lap time 3 secs faster than anyone in the race on the last lap. 

The rest of the pack is fading, crashing, start dependant etc. I know there has been alot of two man shows. But look at the couple of years with Bagget, Tomac, Barcia, roczen. These guys were all in. Deegan wouldnt be as dominant in that era, 

I don't know its fustrating watching 250's (which used to be my favorite class), see someone leading for 20 and you know they can't go the 30mins. How has it gotten to this? They are pro athletes. Are the majority just focusing on SX and SMX? 

A healthy fit hymas would still not have the fitness. But he woulda made it a little more interesting.  

Not sure whats so hard to understand. It was his retirement race. So, no, nobody is getting into a deep discussion over weather he was a sandbagger or not. He got plenty of flack when he was active about moving up. I personally don't think there is such a thing as a sandbagger in a pro class. If you do think there is such a thing, does the size of the rider come into play? Herlings is a big dude by mx standards. 6' and 180lbs. Jmart is 5'5" and 145lbs. These arent the 250 2-stroke days of the premier class. A 450 isnt for everyone. If a small dude wants to make a career on a 250, go for it

Hear me out here guys.. I'm selfish and really want to see this. But J-mart should be the 250 MXDN rider..  you know as a retirement gift. If Chase is basically saying no and AP's health in the air, then Tomac and Deegan on 450's and J-mart 250.. 

1. You will get to see Deegan race the big dawgs on a 450.

2. It is just cool as hell seeing JMart ride like a boss again. 

I know I'm Canadian, but I would put RJ or JCoop on a 450 all day long before taking a chance on Deegs. RJ and JCoop have proven to be the fastest most consistent 450 guys not named Lawrence....
