I’ve been thinking about this as I was doing some lawn work and even if HE is using a fake gun or whatever, he knows the majority of his followers are younger kids. I know there’s the whole “parents should parent their kids” but I’m sure a lot of young kids idolize him and I just kinda find this type of stuff kinda bad. Sure maybe he’s using a plastic gun but maybe a kid wants to mimic this and they find their parents pistol or something. He is an “influencer” at the end of the day so maybe he should think twice about what he’s posting.

Maybe I’m just being too woke or whatever but too many kids have accidentally killed themselves or their friends/siblings by fucking around with a gun.

Exactly my thoughts.  It's really not that hard to imagine that an 8 year old Deegan super fan grabs his dad's 9mm out of glove box and does some sad shit at the track.

I hope most adults can roll their eyes and realize this is just par for the Deegan course but the kids don't have that maturity.

If you don't think something like mentioned above could possibly happen...I guarantee you've never been in the pits of a motocross race.  Deegan is a self proclaimed "influencer"...he can accept some responsibility...or not.

I’m a huge 2A advocate, build AR15’s as a hobby…. And I respect his rights to be a gun owner, etc.

However, intended to be humor or not, this I wouldn’t do and would advise against.  Let’s say, some day in the future, his life was threatened and his firearm was used in self defense.  The prosecutor would have this plastered all over the courtroom and make his defense significantly more difficult.

Some one would take it from him and shove it up his ass.

If he was shooting the gun and not acting like some kind of thug it would be different.

Can someone clue in an old, out of touch curmudgeon what the hell flexing the word "chrome" over and over means exactly?

Probably shorthand for Chrome Hearts. It’s a popular designer brand right now that’s a bunch of random shit from jewelry to clothes and cologne.

If it’s not about that then typically chrome is another word for a gun. Like blicky, grip, thang, piece, etc.

I seriously can't stand Deegz, but at times when my bitterness briefly subsides, I actually kind of feel bad for him. He was raised in such a weird environment, and sometimes seeing him talk to teammates or other riders it seems almost like Michael Jackson (bear with me) where he never learned how to be a kid and have friendships. Far be it from me to feel bad for millionaire championship racers, but his socialization must be super odd for a kid.

He has friendships, I think haiden and slade varola have been friends since they were kids. He also has out of industry friends as well, the guy that was around haiden in their most recent video is one of his out of industry friends.

Seriously strange post. Unless you know him how would you have any idea about the environment he was raised in? How do you know that he didn’t have friends? Then you actually bring up that he’s similar to a complete pervert weirdo like Michael Jackson who never learned how to be a kid when it actually goes right over your head that the picture he posted shows otherwise.

I didn't say he doesn't have friends. I said he was raised in a strange environment and I know that because he was uploading vlogs when he was a child. Regardless of what else, he's had a spotlight on him since he was a child, and that combined with a lot of wealth makes for an atypical childhood. And I think that's partly why his interviews are so weird. He doesn't know how to respond in any way that isn't performative and for the cameras. I compared him to Michael Jackson because he also had a weird childhood in the spotlight, except his involved A LOT more emotional and physical abuse and eventually a lot more money, hence the strange perverted stuff. If you don't agree that's fine but I don't think my take is that out of line.

Not a strange post.  What is strange is watching Deegs mannerisms and how odd and uncomfortable the scene gets when he's searching for something "cool" to say.  It's like he's not comfortable in his own skin and instead of acting in a way that seems normal he pulls this stuff out that seems so fake.  Wondering if he's able to come across as genuine or in the least way likable in his day to day?

His day to day has been wack since he can remember, I imagine. A camera in his face for a youtube channel since he was on a 50, for starters. I first knew about him from my daughter showing me a video of him being monitized like 8 years ago. I honestly feel for the kid. But holy hell he has talent for moto. I think one day he will find humility and it will all be good. But all that upbringing, success and pressure has put him in a weird space for sure.

No, that's YOU who shows up in every thread about him, or Jett for that matter. I show up when I feel like commenting on something being discussed. Because Deegan is extremely fast and extremely popular, he's going to be the subject of discussion pretty often. The only guy I show in every thread about is Jo, because I'm a fanboi.
