I'm a Republican Trump supporter but would vote for any party candidate that I felt would be the best candidate for the job. So I'm "Red' I guess but not "Red or we're dead" or "Blue no matter who"  I try to be open minded and not locked onto any particular party. Is that too wishy washy ? 😄  Although on a personal note I don't know how anyone with any amount of common sense can swallow the woke ass bs ideas the Dems have come up with lately. But to answer the question would I vote for "Somewhere in the middle" ?  Sure if it made the most sense.

Edit: why do I have a feeling I'm going to regret jumping in on this one lol

I lean somewhere between libertarian and conservative but my biggest criticism of the libertarian party has been that they've never really been a serious political party. They fundraise and try to make some noise every 4 years in an election they have zero chance at making a difference in.

If they instead focused on 1 or 2 senate seats, governor races, congressional seats, etc, they could make a huge difference, but they don't.......

You don't have to be on par with the 2 established parties to make a difference, but you do have to win a few elections.

Elon easily has the cash to put a few people in office that aren't beholden to one of the 2 established parties and it would be a huge upgrade from the entirely worthless 2 party system we have now if he was able to.

People like massie only stay with a particular party because of the inherent party affiliation advantages and infrastructure associated with them, but if people like him and fetterman could find those same resources with a 3rd party we'd all be so much better off.

I'm hopeful this megalomaniac can facilitate that and accomplish something good, but we'll see........

So...an entirely new group of wealthy people looking to create laws that benefit their group exclusively .

Do we believe…do we think…can we see the current manipulative 2 party shit-show ALLOWING another party to gain enough traction to make a difference?

it's interesting...and scary. Musk is the richest man on the planet. Theoretically, with enough money poured into his party, he could damn near accomplish most anything he wants. Want a new president? Here, I'll just donate a smooth billion or two and you better believe I can sway elections....

I'm an independent who votes with his conscience, not someone who is beholden to any political party. TBH, I've been sorely disappointed with my choices for the last 20 years or so and usually end up voting for the Libertarian, just so I don't feel bad about putting one of the bad guys into office.

I fall mostly into the conservative side of the fence, but only just. It would be cool if there were a party that espoused these values:
-Secure the border, but realize this country is a melting pot. Respect the rule of law and habeas corpus. Make immigration faster and cheaper, making deportation more legitimate and less like "we don't want brown people here."
-Make malfeasance in office a capital crime. Yes, I'm serious. When people say "Nobody would want to run for office," I say, "Almost. Only the innocent would dare to run."
-Term limits for all elected officials.
-Outlaw stock market trading while in office.
-Some kind of taxpayer protection, e.g., "you may not raise taxes if your business unit overspent its budget last fiscal year." Budgets must be balanced and passed by popular vote.
-Tort reform. It should never be OK to make someone who is not a biological father pay child support, award restitution to a burglar who injured himself while robbing your home, nor lose your property to eminent domain.

I'm looking forward to seeing more about the America Party. Elon claims it's for the 80% of us in the middle, but time will tell if that's just marketing spin.

PS- Any party that will outlaw homeowner's associations (miniature communist dictatorships) HAS MY VOTE!

Why are most public school teachers so ignorant and far left? Never have understood that. Seems like they should take a balanced, unbiased approach while educating our youth rather than apply there own belief system upon them.

I shouldn’t do this but mainly because I disagree with the premise. If you want to define far left, left, middle, right, far right and cite some data that supports the premise maybe it would be worth entertaining.

Only a plurality of teachers identify as left leaning. Most of us, as in a majority, do not.

I do not apply my belief system upon my students. Why do you assume I do?

Why aren't you asking right leaning teachers to take a balanced, unbiased approach while educating our youth rather than applying their own belief system upon students? 27-30% of educators identify as right leaning across the nation.

I can find several sources that find that when teachers try to take a neutral approach, they actually use right leaning pedagogy. This is contrary to your view.

aaahhh blah blah blah. Because I lean right means I'm more racist than my teacher neighbor up the street ? That's quite a generalization but whatever. The left HATES the right more than any amount of racism from either side. Leave color out of it and see which side carries more hate (ie: racism)

Nope not at all what I said. Most racists are far right. Not all far right folks are racist. Reading comprehension is important

A study from US Government classes in two schools in a predominantly white, conservative community?

Sounds exhaustive.

If by racist you mean people who judge people they don't know by the color of their skin, you are completely wrong.

That's a pretty even distribution across political ideologies of all kinds.

This "research study" includes a land acknowledgement from the author and then the "data" is her taking notes on things she observed in the class which she deemed to be of a political leaning, including "patriotism" being labeled as right wing...... the people who study this stuff and run public education are so left wing that they peer review and publish research that identifies "patriotism" as right wing and they don't even notice or see the problem.

Even if you accepted the premise that teachers end up leaning right when they make an effort to be neutral, the most likely explanation of that is once they decide to make that effort they find themselves having to lean right to counter the built in bias that otherwise just gets regurgitated.

Quoting stats on teachers political leanings kind of misses the point. Go survey faculty at any university's education department and see what kind of numbers you get. Public universities I doubt you'd get 5% that identify as anything right of center and you know it.

If a new party had the deciding vote in the Senate and the Congress, they could dictate policy, they don't need to hold a majority to have a significant impact.
