It's pretty good, but still has too much spending.

I just don't and won't ever understand how you can spend your way into prosperity. We hear every cycle that the conservatives will cut spending. I'd love to see it happen at least once, just to see how it goes.

Alas, every time, we hear: "The timing is wrong". Well, hell, it's been "not the right time" since I started paying attention 40 years ago or so.

I think the sales pitch always goes something like...."yes, we are going to spend more...but we are going to create even MORE revenue via X,Y, Z our super amazing economic drivers"...and so far, "X, Y, Z" have yet to produce enough revenue to cover the additional spending...so I'm with you...time to cut spending!  DOGE? hello...are you there?

I'm all for keeping the tax cuts for businesses but they should have increased taxes on individuals to keep it revenue neutral. I'm with everybody else in this thread so far. Enough with the out of control deficits. No more pie in the sky bullshit like Titan said.  Big and beautiful? This is a typical Republican budget. More like Meh.

My opinion is that there are too many RINOs who get elected as conservative but really aren't.

There's a semi-local guy to me in the state senate who put together a map of all the RINOs in Texas' senate, and I'm going to try to spread the word to get those assholes out.

We need a similar map for the U.S. senate, but we know it will never work.

Yes, it is “spendy” to the tune of 3TRILLION + but if Kamalamadingdong would be in charge I hear her economic program would have been north of 7T, so there’s that…

The bill does increase taxes on individuals. Well, some individuals.

I agree the whole thing could be a cloud with a silver lining...

You have to bust it down to see new growth.

Grand daughter loses single Mom free lunch and insurance...

Well make her lunch...

Health Insurance ? Baby daddy has a Solid gig in Construction for 10 + years... She's going on your health insurance now Jack a$$...

Sure plenty of folks dont have any options like this situation and its going to hurt , but like here we're going to be off the free ride and will be just fine.

( The savings will decrease the National Dept. Right ) ?

I know I shouldn't be surprised by the hypocrisy, but I'm still pretty disappointed that omnibus bills were going to be the death of our country when dems introduced their stupid "build back better" bill, but they're a-okay when repubes change the words in the acronym. It still increases the deficit, and adds to the overall size of government.

"It still increases the deficit, and adds to the overall size of government."

This is my whole problem with the Republicans, they don't do Republican things.

They had a great opportunity to finally shrink the government, but just don't have the balls to do it. Too afraid of losing their gravy train to do the right thing.

Can you break down for us where taxes were cut for the rich? Maybe show a list of the tax brackets and point out where the richest brackets got a higher percentage of tax cuts?

It's amazing what you can pull off when you convince a group of people that their shortcomings are a result of someone else's success.

It’s amazing when the Followers of the Narrative accuse others for their own shortcomings.

Just watch as Great, AKW & others prove it to us.

From “Most Favored Nation” Status for China to giving away Trillions to thier insane Billion-Aires during Biden (From Pfizer to Soros to Mr. Microsoft) and the unbelievable amounts of Tax Payer Money funneled thru USAID & other U.S.G.O.s and NGOs…well, they’ve got a lot of insane shit that they can never admit…

So, they throw stones of stupidity and call others silly names in order to avoid the realities of their TDS.

But, I digress.

They Can Not Make This Shit Up (Because, we don’t let them. Friends don’t let friends deny their TDS)

As much as I want to agree, I don't really fall into the category of "they fell for it again", for several reasons.

1. Victim blaming gets you no where.
2. I can't blame people for feeling like victims when they are also victims of the same predators.

The problem I have is peoples willing and eagerness to cut off their own nose because they think it will spite one side or the others face more than their own when it reality it will hurt all of our non 1% faces, which is what we are dealing with in spades at the moment, which can be seen in this bill over and over and over again. In short, "If we hurt them more then we hurt ourselves then we win" when in reality, we're all just hurting ourselves while helping people who have proven time and time again that they have no interest in actually helping anyone but themselves win.

This became really apparent to me when I started studying "trickle down economics" in high school, "if we give all the money to the people who already have all the money, they will give it to the people who work hard and stick it to those who work less (or what we deem as "work less")", when in reality all that happened was that the people who already had all the money, kept all the money, and trickled nothing down, which yes punished those who we were told "worked less" but also punished ourselves at the same time.

It's a sad state of affairs that works perfectly for those who are in charge and keeps everyone below them fighting amongst themselves for the crumbs that manage to sink to the bottom.

Are you conflating the Laffer Curve with "trickle down" economics?

Finding a tax rate that optimizes revenue doesn't have anything to do with "trickling down."

In what part of the world is this "trickle down economics" employed?

There are probably some cases here where the government "gives" rich people money but most of the time it's politicians fighting over how much of someone's money they plan to take away from them.

No poor person ever gave me a job.

The *SFCs suffering from super-self-inflicted TDS are at it, again. Even when you simlply ask a question…they have to show themselves for the Absolute SFCs that they are.

*SFC used in the most Aussie Rules sort of way.

As someone who's family was decimated by the holocaust I see nothing wrong with – nor am I insulted by – comparisons being drawn between what happened to my family and the evolving happenings in regards to what is currently taking place. I would even go so far as to say, "I welcome them as even if these comparisons are proven to be wrong in the long term it is far better to question and confront red flags as they appear as history has shown us time and time again what happens when red flags are ignored for too long", and I assure you, others with similar family histories as mine, would agree with that sentiment.

And with that, cue Dirt rushing in to call me a holocaust denier in 3... 2...

I’m sorry your family went through that, but removing people who are in a country illegally is not remotely close to putting them in concentration camps to exterminate them. Where is the parallel?

That’s a good point, but as far as people being purposely killed, there’s no comparison.

That was the only comparison that I could come up with.
