Reducing barvibrations YZ250

What is the easiest, fastest and most economic way to go and reduce the vibrations on YZ250.

Can’t understand that Yamaha didn’t put rubber mounts on the triple clamp.

What can be done? Not looking for change to a 500+ $ xtrig

Household silicone. 1 tube will do it. Any color. Lol.

what year is your bike?  I think they went to soft mounts in 2006 or 2007?  If it is solid mounted...i would start there.  Switch out the top triple clamp with one that is rubber mounted.

The newer rubber mounted clamps from the four strokes do not fit on the two strokes, the fork bores are different.

We make rubber mounted bar mounts that bolt right up to the stock clamps. $189, and using code VITALMX will save an additional 10% on that.

Silicone, foam, etc. in the bars will help too and that's really inexpensive.

I have the luxon handlebar holders on two of my bikes and they help.   If you want to really nip it in the bud....get the Faastco Flex bars.  They work very well if you dont mind the extra bulk on the front end.

Check your engine mounts are tight.

Also, 2-stroke pipes need regular maintenance include replacing head-pipe orings and springs, at least with each piston and ring service or sometimes twice as often as that.

I used to do the gas hose around the pipe springs trick on my YZ250.   Tames the buzzing a little.

I found the fatbar 36 helps on the Austrian 250f but a two stroke is a different animal so your mileage may vary.

my yz250 vibrates likes a mofo brand new bike 2024

look in to Xc gear clamps pricey but a night and day difference

https://xcgear.com/mako-360/

For that price I can buy a complete xtrig with pdhs mounts and get a new offset aswell , won’t put that kind of money into only handlebar mounts 😂

The Mako really is worth it, they will last 10+ years and can be moved to any bike you have in the future. There's a reason pretty much everyone on Pro row in GNCC runs one.

changing the offset and clamps won't lessen the vibration maybe very little

but the mako-360 i think they have little more cheap version for sure best bet for bar vibration

flywheel weight helps little, filling bars with foam , there are these tuning fork things you can drill and tap in to the bar ends i have seen them before never used them

can balance the crank if you have the motor apart highly recommend

The world's best anti-vibration device is a good, old-fashioned set of thick-ass grips. Go get you some soft, full-waffle grips and you'll be dialed.

I generally agree with this except the "can be moved to any bike in the future" comment ---> There are actually a lot of differences between OEM clamp spacing among the brands, etc., that do require expensive replacement parts to adapt ($200+). I am going through this now with XC Gear on adapting my YZF mounts to use on KTMs ... not cheap.

If you run XTrig or Luxon Gen3 triple clamps, then the bar-mount swapping is straightforward --- assured compatibility.

Oh yeah, I didnt even think about the spacing on the Japenese bikes.

Ive had mine on the slotted KTM mounts, 2021 rubber mounts and now the 23+ rubber mounts.

I cut a thick rubber yoga mat to size of the v shape head stay to kill engine vibrations.  Along with alot of silicone on all engine bolts including head stay.  I run a 4 rubber post rg3 t clamp also I know you don’t want that . But it cushions the hard edges, etc real good & probably vibration. I spray foam in the upper frame holes  by the head stem . If I hv time I might wrap some rubber or tie wrap it on the upper frame too.

The luxon bar mount clamps are a great option without breaking the bank. They've helped a lot with my 125; I broke my throttle hand and mangled some ligaments, the bar mounts count out the numbness issues I would have after 20 min. I have not tried the optional dampners, but you have 3 separate options for mega-soft, medium, and more rigid for higher paced riding. I ride mostly enduros so long days are no longer an issue. Instructions were clear and the product itself is of a high quality.
