Good to see some fight from him, need to see it at some other tracks but definitely a step in the right direction. Sad to see the comments posted about his post race interview, would like to see him take some accountability instead of blaming it all on the bike, but I guess just like everything else in 2025, the good you take credit for and the bad you blame on someone else

I think he would have had a massive confidence boost if he didnt crash in BOTH motos. I could see this just being more fuel for the bike not being up to his standards.

In his post race interview with Matthes he said "I know I could have won if I had the right tools"

Edit - somebody already beat me to it

That's really telling of what he thinks right now.

His mind is still confident, he's just not confident with his bike yet.  I hope they can get there.

Great to see some spark out of him this weekend.

"Jorge has done a complete 360" - RC on Prado's Southwick performance, probably.

Could help Prado if he had team mate who riders outdoors also. Two bikes testing better setup will be big help.

Yeah maybe he should see if Anderson wants to ride with him? Or any of the guys at Club…

He dragged his bike in Matthes' post race interview. Basically said he would've won on a different bike and that they are still very far off. "I'm a sand rider and finished 5th. I know I would win if I was on different stuff. ... I could be winning but right now I don't have the tools to do it."

Hopefully they can start gelling soon, it was awesome to see some signs of life from him yesterday!

Yeah flame away at the bike and say that he would beat guys he could not beat on his old bike.

I bet Kawasaki are loving his interviews right now.

First gp

But that could be luck... Not just because he is top talent Rider and one of the fastest.

Keywarriors are faster than him for sure

He rode great but seems over the Kawasaki. Seems to have a bad attitude to me. Downvote away.

I think it just goes to show they aren’t ready to win yet. It’ll keep getting better, will take time. I’ve never seen Jorge look so on the edge. Losing the bike under him, sliding the rear exiting corners, getting kicked around, tucking the front.

Looked like a guy who is thinking fuck it, I have to show these guys I still have the speed, but I don’t know what this bike is going to do.

If it’s true what they say about him practicing at 70% - he needs to step it up to get the bike in a better spot. Good to see some life in the 70 though.

Listening to his post race interviews and him not thinking today was a good day and him saying he goes out there to win every time kinda gave me more faith in him because it at least seems like his spirit hasnt been broken at all. I still think this was a good showing and that deep down it has to give him some more confidence, but yea hes still got it thats for sure. This is kinda working out to create an epic 2027. Prado slowly builds this year, by next year hes challenging for race wins. Chase gets used to his kawi next year it always takes him a year. Then in 2027 you have a full speed jett, full speed prado, full speed sexton, and a hungry deegs coming up to 450. Should be nuuuts.

You know shit’s going bad when people are talking about how 2027 could be the year!

Today he looked waaaaay better. He looked racey, no more sluggishness, elbows up, over the front of the bike, driving forward. Looked like a different guy and like he belonged. He got two great starts, and was running in third for a lot of the first moto and second for most of the 2nd moto. Plus he stayed in front of tomac until he crashed in both motos. He actually stayed with jett for a bit early and then once jett got away he still was solidly in front of eli. Thats no joke.

As a multi time champ whos always won everything I’m sure his confidence has been shot lately. Just the fact that he was running the pace of those guys up front will put that seed in his mind again that yea I do belong up here. I’m not saying its all going to be smooth sailing from here on out, but I think the most important part is today he learned to believe again. It had kinda looked like a train wreck, but all of a sudden they have something to build off of and are showing clear progress towards the goal. Just to know theyre going in the right direction finally is going to be huge.

I’m sure theres going to be more ups and downs but the seed has been planted again. Plus sometimes you need the really bad days that way it makes it that much more rewarding when you turn it around. If/when he can get his next win after going through some of the darkest times its going to feel like the best win of his life.

have you seen the laptimes? He did good. But got a bit to go

He will get it figured out.
I think its awesome that Reedy and Nicoletti are supportive.  They know how it is.
Im thinking the Kawi may be off, and yes Ive bled green since 82.  That was hard to say.  😬

Kawi hasn't introduced a new model in a couple of years, so I wonder what the difference is between the bike he tested last year before he signed and his current bike?

That was my point. I’d get the issues if he’d tested a previous model and Kawi introduced a completely different bike before he started racing, but like you said, their new model came out last year, so that’s not the case. I’m starting to wonder if he didn’t just see a bunch of zeros on a check and figured he could make it work?

I understand where you’re coming from with that opinion but I’m not buying it. The guy is world class and has so much more in the tank than he’s shown up till the wick. I find it crazy he can be that far off with set ups. I think it’s mostly between his ears and not the bike. He looked like he was riding over what the bike can handle but I think that was him just feeling comfy and hanging it out. It was great to see the aggression and speed from him for the first time this year and I think it will be good for his confidence. Reed is “working with him” now at club. So let’s hope whatever he’s got going on be it all in his head or in his head and his set up I think he’s got nowhere to go but up from here. I don’t see him getting a win with a healthy Jett started 20th or better… but with that ride I can totally see him in the 2-5th battle every weekend and would be great to see another guy up there. This year the races have been amazing for the podium(2-3).

Any longer message I’m going to have to talk about the cr125 and the mob bosses in Chicago.

If he practices at 70% he probably tested at 50%.

Good interview on racer x with him.  He is pretty open about the issue which is unheard of for a factory racer.  He isn't comfortable on the bike and they aren't making much progress in his view.  Maybe he isn't great at testing? Or giving the proper feedback, maybe kawi isn't doing what he wants?  Hard to say.  He doesn't seem to think it's the tracks or comp.

I'm sure kawi doesn't like him blaming the bike so openly.  Hopefully they get it figured out.  If Sexton is there next year also, that might help with getting the bike setup better?

He tucked the front in Moto 1. Moto 2 he couldn’t dodge a lapper, so I wouldn’t say that one was indicative of the bike. He looked far more comfortable on the Kawi than previous races, but still wasn’t hanging it all out like we’re waiting for. I sure hope this is a sign of progress with the bike and the team. I would like to see success for JP in the states.

I loved that interview, it's so incredibly refreshing to hear a completely honest and open rider like Prado talk.

Actually he beat a lot of those guys on the Gas Gas...23 MXON...fastest qualifying time, won the qualifier and finished second (to Febvre) in the first moto.  Beat Jett overall. So....

Even though he didn't win, crashed twice, and the results don't show the whole story, last weekend was a welcome success for Jorge. That ride has to take a ton of stress off his mind. Now he can forget any intrusive thoughts and get down to working on the little details.

I really like Jorge as a person, I want to see him do well and respect the gamble he made to come over here.

However, I have to say I am a bit turned off by how he is handling these issues. There seems to be little accountability on his end that he made the choice to come to a new country on an entirely new bike, in a series that has more limitations on what they can do to the bike, on a team that is known for not meeting the demands of some riders bike-wise.

Unless the team overpromised specific things they aren't delivering, this is more on him than the team IMO and he seems to think the bike is the only thing holding him back.
