It will be interesting if toendel gets a good start, in theory he should go faster as the day goes on with his experience, ompared to a numer of riders (I appreciate his time may be flattered a bit by virtue of a bit smoother track)

It’s stupid that qualifying times count from lap one of the first practice session. Especially on a sand track.
Toendel is no joke, not a well known guy in America but he is really good especially in sand.
Also not surprised to see Dutch national rider Kevin Buitenhius in the top 20 in 450, these euro sand specialists are coming out for this race
Too bad that Van Berkel is racing in Canada or else he would be near the top as well today…
Lol you do realize he set that lap time on a track as smooth as the road right. Not discrediting him but if you think that means he’s going to run up front than you should consider the context first.

He did that lap on the last lap first practice. Cooper set his fast lap on the second lap. The track would have been very similar.
Yeah the Dutch are so fast in the sand . That’s all they hv is sand tracks. Same as Wi. The top 1/2 of the state has a lot of sand tracks & The UP. So there faster in the sand than the southern Wi. Riders.
Southwick is pretty close to a lot of Norwegian tracks that are sand/gravel based with a hard base.
He used to race a local summer series here in Sweden when he was younger before his GP days.
