I wonder if it would have been smart to only race selected SX rounds and get Prado absolutely comfortable for outdoors first. Getting straight into the full US schedule is brutal. I hope this doesn't kill all the confidence he had. I really thought even with limited prep he would hang with the top 3 in outdoors, guess I'm dumb.
Yeah, all the media talk about Tomac being the one to beat Jett and fight for the championship but half of the motos so far he struggle to beat AP, Hunter and Jcoop. So either they over hyping ET or under selling the other three guys.
He crashed while trying to reel Hymas back in, definitely went for the moto win and made a mistake trying to run Hymas pace. That's as straight up as it gets lol.
Has Eli ever had a season with this many poor starts? What the hell is he doing? So bad.

It's the starts. He starts behind those guys just about every time. He has to put more risk and exert more energy to catch and pass way more riders. It's not sustainable in this field. He still had a laptime that was 1.5-2 seconds faster than all 3 of those guys, and over half a second faster than Jett's fastest while he was trying to catch AP. Don't think it's likely he can do it week in and week out, but he's still the best bet for challenging Jett in any given moto.
Hey they showed Dianna Dahlgren or however it is spelled in those highlights. She was still by far the best Monster girl, she actually brought something to being in that position for the sport imo.

Dude Hymas obviously has that one race per year, Deegan also struggled with Davies pace in SX here n there. Deegan is by far the most consistent in the 250 class and it's not even close out there but don't act like other riders don't have their weekends where they can match him or even go faster. You're coping even harder
Starts are a part of the race to and you can’t hand pick what parts of the race you want to fit the narrative.
When the gate drops the moto starts and when the checkered flag comes out it’s finished and so far this season, half of the motos the other guys I mentioned have done a better job than ET.
And IF he can go 1.5-2 seconds faster a lap, he should be able to pass them to.
I’m no buying ”if it was not for the (incert part of the race here)” he would win/be up there. If the other riders finish ahead, they have done a better job.

With a blown up bike and a crash I don’t think you can classify that as struggling to run pace and getting beat straight up. Good on Hymas for holding it down, he looked strong. But, agree to disagree.

Matthes has a take on Tomac that I agree with - he’ll have his moments during the season where he’s up front but it won’t be every race and probably not enough to win the title.
The only rider that can beat Jett is Jett.
