Correct sir. Pourcel has made a fan of me, as if what I think of him matters :-) Anyway, CP always came off as kind of aloof because he is such a quiet guy. Actions, however, speak louder than words anyway and he has proven himself to be gracious in defeat. He has shown the heart of a lion in spite of the major injuries that he has sustained. He will be a welcomed addition to the 450 fold next season. It's gonna be a slug fest and I cannot wait.

I wanted Trey to win but I felt so bad for CP he was sitting on the ground holding his shoulder and it was obvious it was over. Unbelievable something would happen for the second year in a row.

I was pulling for Trey all year and really wanted Trey to beat Pourcel on the track, and I guess in a way he did, as CP crashed all by himself, but to see CP with his head down on the shoulder of the medic, was really tough to see.

I had this view of CP after he blamed the bike for losing to RD last year, which when you compete at their level, losing that way has to be a harder pill to swallow than the crash this year. Either way, what CP just said is AS CLASSY AS IT GETS!! CP definately changed my opinion of him! Way to go CP nd TC for one of the best RACING seasons in quite some time! Both guys are class act CHAMPIONS!!

He was not so poplular last year after he lost out to Dungey. He has handled things totally different his tiime around.

I agree with you but if had won the title and beat Canard would you think he would be adored by the fans?

I was not a Poucel fan until the last two weeks when I saw his really great personality and attitude toward his competitors. Pourcel is a true champ and I will be cheering for him in 2011.

Last year was different: He got robbed (by lady luck) Take the broken bike and the malfunctioning gate at Lakewood and he is the champ.
This year Trey was the better man, at least physically. Except for Lakewood, Christophe was never able to put 2 motos together.
I hope they bring the same level of intensity to the 450. The best scenario is a 4 way battle with Dungey and Weimer. The 4 of them are class acts that race hard but clean. I hope that Wiemer lack of form in MX was just a fluke.

Anyway, Christophe is in good company. McGrath and Bayle never won a light AMA MX championship either. Bayle, like Christophe, did win a light FIM championship.

CP and TC provided some of the best racing for us fans to watch in years. IMHO both are true champions and I can't wait for SX in 2011.

i started seeing and likingt cp after watching the monster shark vids..I started seeing glimses of his humor when he was teasing RV about lap times at SX and how he was faster it was funny but the more I hear and see this guy the more impressed I am with him- Very classy moves we are lucky to have him here!

I have never seen a guy win over so many fans with a loss. Its pretty fucking cool if you think about it. He won me over this year, thats for sure. The man is a champ and a class act.

He won me over in 2007 when he came here in the off season and beat Villopoto in his prime as a guest rider for Mitch. He hurt himself doing SX before the GP's too. Boy took a big risk to come have some fun over here and that impressed me, showed me to him it wasn't about the fame but just the fun and once in a lifetime experience. It's your job, why not attend every cool little race opportunity you can? No one with an American ride would dare go to Europe and race the Belgian, British, Italian or French National Championships just for fun before the season starts. Not even European transplants do it because our season is so fucking long. It's sad really. I miss the days of "I'm going to every damn race I can make it to whether it counts towards something or not."
