Long time lurker, first time poster. I’m trying to update a list of open motocross tracks in the northeast Texas/louisiana area that are open to the public. Me and my kids try to ride as much as we can, we’re right on the Louisiana/Texas state line, so Desoto motorsports is our home track, we used to have a membership at swan, but now we just try to hit the races and random open practice days. This is the rough list I have so far, if anyone can add in any public tracks that are still open I’d appreciate it. I’m also trying to highlight tracks that are friendly to 50s and 65s. My 2 oldest are on 65s and my youngest is on a stacyc/pw.

Wildwood mx is the best track in Louisiana.

Missing tracks:

1. Wildwood mx  kentwood, la

2. Motoland South Angie, LA

3. The Jefferson Compound franklinton, la

4. Swampland MX Breaux Bridge, LA 

5. Motosouth mx Hammond, LA

6. Sand lake MX neon,LA


These tracks open regularly but not every weekend. We are lucky to have so many places to ride close.


Wildwood is a really advanced national caliber track. Sandlake is full beach sand and better for training rather than just having fun. 

Motoland, Motosouth, and swampland are all easier tracks that are family fun type tracks and suited for all skill levels.

Village Creek has rebranded and reopened to the public! However, you need an AMA license just to practice there now. The new name of the property is Metroplex Mx.

 

MSR Compound or "Mark Systems Racing" is very close to Buffalo Creek, located in Eustace. Very fun spot.                                                         (2661 Fm 1256 Eustace, TX, United States, Texas 75124)

 

Sam's Mx is cool little backyard track open to the public. Small-Mid size jumps with one booter right in the middle.                                                 (1091 Co Rd 4415, Ben Wheeler, TX 75754)

MX 2.0 should be added to the list, near Winnie, Texas.  

I wish there was a track near Lake Sam Rayburn area of East Texas.  One would think as large a town as Lufkin, Texas is there would be track near by.  Same for Beaumont.  The closest track to Beaumont is MX 2.0 half way between Beaumont and Houston give or take.

You through me for a loop and had me asking Google to search for neon, LA. Eventually figured out it was Enon. I remember trail riding at Enon in the 70's as a kid. Glory days when Dad, Mom and my sister had bikes.

Colin Edwards place in Houston area. Texas tornado is what it’s called. It’s a training facility but I believe they have some more what i would call public ride days.

I grew up for a time near Pittsburg.  Didn't see mention of the tracks at Longview, Marshall, or Hughes Springs.  I assume long gone.  The Longview track was run by the Boy Scouts.  Sand and oiled sawdust.

Crowded J in Longview, Texas which is just practice right now. 

Madden Moto Playground in Eustace, Texas which is covered in artificial turf and has numerous freestyle ramps. 

Sonoma Mx (formerly South Central Mx) in Edgewood, Texas 

Lots of private tracks in East Texas if you know the right people
