What are we talking

Adam didnt say. Just that he thought it was one of the biggest 250 contracts. I'll have to check if he said biggest contracts ever. AC must have trained with Jo through Nick Wey. Somewhat of a head scratcher but I guess with the Lawrence's moving to 450's, Jo was thought of as the next guy? I've never got the impression he could seal the deal. He always comes on when the title is out of reach and there is no pressure on him

With the recent rumors of Mookie sticking with either Husky or GasGas, that leaves a spot open for the Triumph 450 ride since Smith said he doesn’t want to race a 450 yet. Sounds like both Anderson and Barcia are waiting on more details of the Ducati offer. HEP is still looking to sign a bigger name for the Twisted side of 450’s as well.

All this talk about Eli going to KTM is interesting, his suspension guy is one of THE biggest reasons for Eli's performance/speed so at KTM would his suspension guy be involved ?

Gilley is no longer doing Eli's suspension so he'll be fine....Gilley has been working with Cooper Webb this year

If PC doesn't resign Marchbanks, HEP should pick him up to ride 450's. He is good at both SX and MX.

I think this is where it's currently at as far as what is "known" for 450's:

Honda: J. & H. Lawrence

Yamaha: J. Cooper, Webb (+Deegan for MX)

Kawasaki: Sexton, Prado

KTM: Tomac, Plessinger, Vialle

GASGAS: M. Stewart, Hampshire

HEP/Progressive/Suzuki: Roczen

HEP/Twisted/Suzuki: TBD

Triumph: TBD

Ducati: TBD

Beta: Bloss, Oldenburg

Phoenix Honda: TBD

Quad-Lock Honda: TBD

Tedder: TBD

ClubMX: N/A

Husqvarna: N/A

(Dean Wilson has an offer for SX, Tedder has talked to Anderson, Anderson and Barcia are currently talking to Ducati, HEP has talked to Anderson and Barcia as well, Club is back to focusing on 250s after a few deals didn't pan out, Factory Husqvarna is leaving pro SX/MX, Ferrandis is looking for SX only deal)

Sounds like Shimoda is choosing to leave Honda to be the other KTM 250 rider in 2026 or go back to PC as well.

Matthes/DB talked a little silly season stuff they've heard on their show today.

I think Mitchell Harrison would be a solid pick for HEP as another Chiz. He's a consistent 450 main eventer and much better outdoors.

I know Eli is so good on the Yamaha, and it makes too much sense at this point in his career.

But the people telling him to take pay cuts to stay is insane. The guy is one of the best riders we have had in this sport, the resume is incredible. The risk he takes lining up everytime, you really think he should take a pay cut?

Who takes a pay cut when you are at pinnacle of a career in real life, just to stay with a company who doesn’t want you? Ridiculous. If they don’t want to pay your worth - you go. It’s that simple.

I dont really expect Eli to take a pay cut but I have said he should take a pay cut in response to all these fans...

I dont really expect Eli to take a pay cut but I have said he should take a pay cut in response to all these fans and their insistence Star re-sign him. All you hear is how Star/Yamaha should just find the money or cut their squad in half just to sign Eli. Why is it all on them? Maybe Eli shouldn't ask for a multi year deal. Maybe he should take a pay cut. No? Ok, then dont act like this is so one sided. He's going to be 33 by the time '26 sx starts. He hasnt finished a series since '22 mx.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not working my whole life to take a pay cut just because. Yamaha would have to be the holy grail when it comes to bikes.

Sadly, none of the bigger name Euros that were thought to come over appear to be coming. At least not being mentioned. De Wolf, Coenens.

Would've been cool to see them come over but thankfully for us we're not short on 250 talent here. Outside of Deegan in SX next year, the 250 class is wide open, would've been a great time to come over if they wanted to!

Another thing I caught from AC was how big Jo's HRC contract was. He said it was one of the biggest 250 contracts ever

No way it is more than JG and Hanny were doing in 06-08

Hodge336 wrote:

Ballpark how big were those contracts?

Hanny was like a million bucks total for regional supercross only (2-3 yrs) and I think I remember it being reported that JG was like 7-800K a year on his 2nd FC deal

I heard JG was getting 800k a year from Geico back in the day. Maybe could’ve been two but I’m pretty sure it was 800k a year. Millsaps had to have gotten some big money from Suzuki and his 06 Honda contract.

Is Wilson’s offer from the same or different team?

So... If Eli goes to KTM, that's again, their top rider not training with Aldon.

Really? Sandbagger Smith doesn't want to race a 450 'yet'? Who would have thought?

I suppose we don't want to rush the guy...

Off the top of my head I'm trying to think of who of the KTM group does train there?

Stewart, Barcia and Pless for sure. I think RJ is too.

Beaumer is with Davi Millsaps

Vialle is training with Sexton I think.

DeFrancisco?...Cochran?

Not sure that squirrel in head will understand this but there is not an age out rule in the 250 class and if you’re so hell bent on bitching about riders not moving up when YOU think they should then why don’t YOU make up the difference in pay for them….or maybe just shut up about it because it’s not going to change…

Ol' Smith says he'll buy you a cocoa next time you're at the retirement home.

Not sure if Justin Hill's contract is up with Tedder, for some reason I thought it was. He had a pretty solid season.

Either way I can't see him looking for a different team. They seem to let him do what he pleases and train how he wants, and he's a good fit there.
