No one is beating Jett. He could top 10 the start and easily win.

He very well could mop the floor with the field this year but let’s wait til the track gets a bit rougher.

I wondered if the injuries and self sabotage would be a factor.  Maybe his skull really is so thick that life just doesn't bother him.  🙃

Yup. Unless he crashes or is injured (let's hope not), it's going to be a very long summer for his competition.  

I get that it's only one practice, but it's per his pattern of running fast laps seconds faster than everyone else. He was over 5 seconds faster than Chase and the current 450 sx champ. That's embarrassing.  

You guys put too much weight into these 15 minute sessions. Not everyone approaches them the same.  Especially Q1.

I agree. I would assume that first session is more like the free session in SX. Get out there and gauge bike up etc. either way though. Message sent off the rip by Jett 

It could be ,  100%.  In 15' RD5 was way off the pace round one also,  then closer rond two and we know what happened after that.

Interesting to see what happens as it gets rougher.

Oh I know, it just didn't take long to put the fear in all of our hearts is all. 🙃

Part of me wonders if Chase is already mentally fucked. Just seeing Eli and Jett back. If you’ve raced  We’ve all been there I’m sure. Sitting there on the start straight before practice looking at the guy you know is better than you just thinking.. shit this is gonna be tough

Guys it’s Q1, yes Jett will probably be fastest but a lot of guys don’t try to push themselves in qualifying. At Anaheim 1 Jo Shimoda qualified 8th I believe and led every single lap

As for Q1, always a crap shoot.  Q2 is always a better gauge of what's out there.  And even then it doesn't mean that much.  Jett was notably quicker in qualy here at Pala and during the motos, Chase had plenty of speed, even running Jett down only to then make a mistake...

Simply, don't hang your hat on qualy times.  

Eli being somewhat close in qualy is a dangerous thing for all these guys.

He has won the title in 3 out of the last 4 series he has entered, I think he is good on that front.
