I can't believe how perfect it's going to be out there, worst case should be mid 70's which is a dream out there. Seeing this forecast I just might have to go...

Me and my dad will be there, going to attempt to bring my camera in with the 4 lenses I have, one I don't think will make it through is my telephoto lens, which isn't as big as what the credentialed guys are using. I am going to be wearing a black main event moto shirt, moto option straw hat, a black ogio san manuel backpack.I will be around the finish line and podium.
Looking forward to seeing the pics here.
Sorry for not posting the A1 photos, I went from not having access to the editing software I am most used to because i wasn't taking a photo class at that time, to editing them, finding out a new technique to not make the shadows so harsh, to having to transfer all of those photos to a different catalogue, then finding out none of the edits saved, then taking a break because I didn't want to edit them at the time, to now editing them from time to time. When I am finished editing them, I will post all of my favorites here for comments and critique. Sorry if these sound like excuses, just being honest. None of the free editing software's compare to Lightroom Classic's layout/UI.
I'll be there with my wife and my camera and various lenses. I'll be in a sexton shirt. Fourth time going to a race at Pala. Very excited for the beautiful weather!

In. Have a friend and his son coming in from Louisiana for their first National. We’ll be all over the place.
I'll be there tomorrow and saturday. I'm 3 weeks into a 6 week dream vacation...started with denver and salt lake, thursday and saturday of motofest, and still have the first 3 rounds of outdoors to go.
Unless something has changed, you shouldn't have any issues bringing camera gear to shoot Pala. I've been shooting out there for 15+yrs, sometimes with a credential and sometimes not, and I've never had an issue bringing in two bodies and multiple lenses.
Post some phone pics tomorrow of some eye candy (bikes)
You are really lucking out this weekend, perfect conditions. Keep your eye on the Hangtown weather because it could easily be 20+ degrees hotter next weekend.
Going to hangtown next weekend instead😎
Might make that one also.
Shouldn’t have problems bringing them in. Pala is pretty lax, nothing like going to a stadium. This will be the first year I’ve missed in a long time. I plan on catching an east coast round this year. I’ve done all the California rounds for years and I’ve decided to start checking off the ones I haven’t been to. Still bums me out to miss the opener.
Driving out from AZ for my first Pala national
Stoked on double digit weather
Thanks for the info, are they lax about bringing in sealed bottles of water? First year back for me and my dad since 2023, that sucks that you won’t be able to make it.
In with son and grandson.
I don’t think they will let you bring an ice chest. You should be able to bring some snacks and water in though. It’s easy to walk back out to the car before the motos to get what you need. Yea it sucks I’m not going, don’t remind me. It really annoyed me when I looked at the weather. I will say, I’ve been tricked before by forecasted 70’s only to show up and it end up being close to 90. Good luck leaving after the race.
Last I checked it’s a high of mid 70’s. Perfect for this old guy to be hiking around at a National. I’m getting there around 8 and heading out partway into the last 450 moto. I’ll catch the ending on Peacock. I can’t wait! I’m just as excited now as I was in the early 70’s heading to a trans-am / National when I was a youngster
Track layout looks better this year for viewing. Go easy on the airhorns 😄 I'll be on the couch
Pit Row
Coming down the 5 now. Worked 12 hours last night, went home took a shower and on the road (coming from Santa Cruz). Long ass drive and I'm sleepy AF but we gonna get there!
First California mx race for me. I'm gonna hit hangtown next week on our way back across the country. Timed work perfect this year!!
I'll be there. I love seeing the top pros ride the same track I've put laps on. Although it makes me realize how slow I am. Puts it in to perspective how bad ass these dudes are!
That’s awesome, thank you for the info.
It's been really weird weather up in NorCal this year. It's 78 degrees today, but it's forecasted to be 104 next Friday, then drop to 92 for Saturday.
In previous years, it's been OK to bring in anything you want (within reason). The year before last they tried to tell me that I couldn't bring in a HydroFlask.
I told them that was ridiculous and kept walking. Once in, I saw that almost everyone had outside beverages.
I have no idea what the rules will be this year, but hydration is critical if it's hot.
I'll be there tomorrow, mostly hanging out with great friends on the hill on the back side of the track. I'll be wearing a Yamaha jersey, and a straw hat that has a Hemlock Hat Co Logo on it.
Most likely Nessy Burgers afterward! Come over and say Hi!
My HydroFlask is Yamaha blue BTW. It'll be there tomorrow
I want to try and stay far away from the hill, even with parking, in 23(last time i went to this race) i experienced the stairs on the hill, that’s a whole different beast before the day starts and after the day ends. Being a bigger person probably doesn’t help either. I’ll be around the podium/finish line. I’m two fiji 1 liter waters, as well as my camera and 6 inch(that’s when it’s fully extended) telephoto lens. I will be wearing a moto option american flag straw hat, main event moto shirt(it’s called the dusty days shirt), with an ogio san manuel logo backpack.
Outside food/snacks were not allowed in 2024. They took away the couple of sandwiches I had made prior and I was told, the promoter only wants food that’s purchased from the vendors. My sandwiches were added to a large pile of confiscated food from others before me.
Bringing your own water is fine though right?
I’m here
lol spectators really get shafted I guess. Didn’t even know they check the lenses let alone food and water? Am I missing something or do those camping have these wild rules or just people walking in?
I’ve been there for last 5-6 nationals ans always get through the gate with water bottles n my backpack. I freeze a couple the night before and mid day when they thaw out it is nice to have ice cold water when it heats up.
Any back back restrictions? None of that clear bag bullshit? I'd hate to have to throw my damn bag away? I looked on mxsports and fox raceway site for this info but didn't see anything. Granted I didn't spend a lot of time searching.
Thanks
