Not saying Hunter should be a championship favorite but if anybody is being slept on it's him. This is Red Bud, halfway point of the series last year, first round that Jett was out, and look at what color his backgrounds are. He and Chase basically swapped better moto scores up until Hunter had his big crash at this round while leading, then Hunter had a rough couple rounds before they went 2-1/1-2 at Dilla and Budds, then another bad round at the finale for Hunter but first year in the 450 class he was beating the champ straight up all year.

Who's faster - 2024 Prado on the Gas Gas at the end of the season or 2025 Prado on the Kawi this week?
Yes, much less time testing on the Kawi but he's also said he loves it and it seems like it's better already than his '24 GG.
I think Chase has the advantage. Eli and Jett been off the bike so long I don’t see them having the stamina to run top speed against Chase for a full moto. Both also pushing the return dates for gheir injury to race.
Chase is ridiculously fit. We know he will be ready for going all out the whole moto. I just can’t see them beating him in the first few rounds.

I do think that will be the deciding factor this weekend, unless Chase cracks and makes a costly mistake (very possible). I think Jett and Eli will have plenty of pace to battle with him for a good amount of time. But, come those last ~10 min, Chase will still be hammering away pushing it past the limit in order to prove a point, and Jett/Eli will probably think to themselves, "a podium is good for my first round back, no need to send it at round 1".
Anyone know how fit Prado is at this point? He has been riding for like 6 to 8 weeks or so? If he is fit, he should be in the top 4 conversation all day IMO. Can't wait until this weekend!
5-6 weeks back on the bike. Started riding again mid April.
Honestly I'm just glad to see all good guys back whatever order they finish, Tired of knowing who will finish first and second each week. Its going to be exciting and I am looking forward to it

AC's laptimes in '21. Obviously the track wasnt the same every year. Just pointing out even with him constantly coming off the couch from injuries, he had top end speed that was untouchable. Throw him on the list off the great "what if's" of the sport. The netve damage made it so he couldn't hold on to the bike anymore. Go check out his Instagram. Kawi have him a bike to go shred the National track. He was RIPPING. Such a great dude.
I remember him ripping the holeshot moto 1 of '21 and gapping the field by like 10 seconds before the halfway point. Then he went down lol. Dude's speed was insane when he wasn't dealing with chronic pain.

eli came out with a bang, put 18 seconds on hunter and stuck with jett for the most part

You forgot Hunter...he was on the podium every race last year except two rounds where he got 4th...
He gets overlooked often.
If Jett didn’t exist, he’d be more popular…

he didn't even have him in his top ten...Hunter dominated his 4th-10th pick as a rookie.
