Mirtl shot me a message after their first case was dismissed and then moved courts. He sent a fairly shitty message towards me, when I tried to steer it professionally and stated what I knew about it being moved. He said that info was wrong, so then asked him if he wanted to share why it happened or to send a statement if he had one…and he went on a couple paragraph rant / attack instead.

This video comes out and I’m blocked, Vital is blocked, can’t see it. He messages me again about it. I point out that I hadn’t seen it yet due to the fact he blocked me. Then he had some sarcastic response and that was it.

There’s also the whole accusing me of taking payment to publish court docs, then asking me how much it costs to get what he wants up. He also reached out to one of my coworkers and wanted them to write a story (on his current situation) his behalf but wouldn’t go on the record for it. Basically “just take my word for it”.

I don’t need this shit. I can’t wait for the TMZ mess to be over with.

I'm sure Vital's job is not an easy one to keep their access to riders and whatnot. Only thing about that that is frustrating is that Vital won't ADMIT that they bury some stories due to this, but I diigress.

I suppose I just find episodes like this curious cause a few years ago when Lucas/MX Sports had that awful summer of coverage and the fans went nuts with complaints....so ML sat down and did a 2h interview so he could "set the record" straight. Ok, it helped a lot and the readership enjoyed it.

Now you have this situation, which ML describes as TMZ-esque, and I don't disagree. BUT it's also a topic all over the moto sites/YT videos and is clearly a major story in our sport, even if it might boil down a bit to a he said/she said at the moment. But ML has Mirtl climbing up his leg begging for coverage, and even though everyone calls him "crazy" or "strung out", ML shakes his head at him and hangs up. Why not say "Ok, come by the office and we'll do a sit-down interview and you can speak your truth". Right or wrong, forum members would gobble it up and it would be widely read/received. Why NOT do it? And what determines what gets coverage and what doesn't?

Anyway, just musing on a Tuesday.

um, wrong about what? I still disagree with his stance on "reporting" but I am not here to "argue" about it....just talkin'...have a better day.

You remind me of another member from Texas that got their account clicked around the same timeframe that yours showed up.

Exactly,  and no one will hold it against ML if he clipped him again, which he should.  Along with a few others.

Now this explains why I recently saw a video of Jett basically saying how he wanted to meet or was a fan of several black actors/artists and such.  It just did not feel right. It’s probably their way of trying to say he is not racist.
Now I wonder even more if actually hurt his knee. I watched the video of him hurting his knee and could not understand how that foot dab hurt his knee.  Maybe someone told him to stay away from the sport for a bit. So maybe the injury was fake?

Oh and there is no such thing as reverse racism here in America.  Black people do not have the power here in America to be racist.  Prejudice Yes but not Racist.

That’s because 99% of this sport / industry is not black.

I wanna know the dirt...no I don't...yes I do...no...yes...🙃

If the dude would sit down and answer questions of ML's choosing and not just a bully pulpit to rage and ramble.

As far as my nearly favorite rider stepping on his dick and proving he's merely human instead of the second coming...he's gonna have to take his lumps in the court of public opinion.  That can be a pretty nasty place these days.  Even with his Met appearance the socials can turn on you in a heartbeat.  They love tearing folks down.

And to be perfectly honest, when he went from a badass dirt bike rider to a "personality" he sold hisself to a rough crowd.  You don't know til ya know.😉

Jett knew this video was out there.  How come he didn’t do a “Press Release” immediately like they did when firing dude and potentially causing him to lose a lot of clients, instead of saying nothing until after all the court proceedings?  He should have immediately offered an apology for his past.
In the court of public opinion his agent will always be seen as a thief even if proven innocent because all of this should have been dealt with privately from day one.

Don’t you think it’s weird he hasn’t?

I like Jett but I also know he fucked up and this may hurt him. What he does have going for him is there are not many black people in this sport, who this affects most.  Most here will always deny the racism.  Regardless of the age of the participants. 😔

He doesnt need to apologize for saying something dumb when he was a kid. The cancel mob always backs right off when you apologize right? No, they double down. So a disingenuous apology isnt needed. This is a nothing burger he doesn't need to address

Do your own actual research and don't listen to the "news" and what they told you racism is. It has nothing to do with "power" over anyone, that is a straight up lie to completely undermine thae actual issue.

Racism is prejudice because of race, period. End of story. You can be prejudiced and not racist, but you can't be racist and not prejudiced...it's just the further definition when it's based only on race. So yes, ANY nationality can be racist against any other nationality. Stop trying to make anyone other than the minority feel like they are the problem even if they aren't racist in the slightest bit.

"Reverse racism" isn't a thing. It's either racism or it's not. Doesn't matter what color you are.

I was a Fan of Jett. He is an amazing rider. But now this has shown me how he was raised. It’s no secret how the whites in Australia treat the aboriginal people of Australia. I have asked people who has travelled to Australia how it is there and a few told me the whites there treat the aboriginal people of that land like shit. So now I’m not so interested in visit Australia for instance.
At the very beginning of the video Jett makes the sound of the horn of the aboriginal people and then proceeds to say the racist words.

It’s very disappointing,  it’s easy for people who are not black to tell black people how they should feel or respond to racism. Especially in a sport which some black people love.
Also I love my alpinestars gear and I prefer Kawasakis but I also love Hondas. I now wonder how those companies feel about or will react to hiring someone with such openly feelings towards black people.

I hope Jett offers a very sincere apology, an apology I feel he should have issued immediately.  It would have gone a long way with me personally.

I'm guessing an apology is on the way, but they are figuring out the best way to handle it.  Being that there were (2) derogatory words Jett used makes it a little more than a nothing burger, no matter how old Jett was.  Jett is in the spot light now and it comes with the territory, and he'll have to put out some sort of explanation/apology soon.

Had this been just a hip hop type call out and he used the term Nigg*a, it would have been much easier to explain and deal with.  But using two much worse deragotory words changes the message and will offend some people.

You are absolutely wrong about it’s definition.  Especially it’s definition here in America.  The word Racism here in America involves a lot of power and control of people by race.  It’s not just “Pre Judgement” of others.

Don. You know me. You know I often joke about racial stuff. I love to laugh and make others laugh, even about my skin color. But this whole situation sucks.  The Lawrence’s should have kept the firing and lawsuit private. Especially knowing this video is out there.
I would have thought Jett was even more amazing if he had offered an explanation and apology immediately.

Oh and my name is Craig. Not Andy.  Back in the 80s not many black guys rode motocross (except at Ascot raceway 😂) here in Los Angeles. So often times I would be the only black guy at the tracks or on the trails.

So my white buddies would call me Brosho in reference to Andy also being pretty much the only black guy at the races.  I also have a couple of other black buddies who told me how their white riding friends would also refer to them as Brosho, because of Andy also being a rarity in the sport.  That’s why I have used “Brosho”.  My feelings are mine and not the feeling of Andy in any way.  So I hope no one confronts Andy about my comments here.  It’s also why I don’t post much here anymore.  I tried to change the name a bit to “CraigBrosho” but don’t know how.

Well, maybe in many academic and activist circles.  That's not the world many of us live in, thankfully.

I'm not that Donn....but I do agree with you that team Lawrence needs to do something other than sit silent waiting for it to go away...it will be interesting if the media starts asking about his remarks this weekend or if they release a statement prior to....

Jeezus.  You must live a miserable existence and I bet you blame it on everyone but yourself.
