Just saw Chase's insta post, where he states "we will learn from this and use it for the future." But my question is, can he really? If there is a lesson to be learned it would have been 2022 outdoors after he threw away the championship in similar fashion by multiple tip overs while leading.
And after he did the same thing again in 2023 SX and now 2025 SX, it seems to me Chase simply does not have the mental component necessary to win competitive championships where he actually has someone to battle with. He either crashes or makes a mistake under pressure (Tampa, Seattle, Arlington) or can't win when it's "must" situation (Pala 2022, Pittsburgh 2025).
And for me, that seems like something you can't learn or teach, you either have the clutch factor or you don't.
Not to mention, if Jett stays healthy,, I don't think anyone beats Jett since he seemingly has it all and can win when there is pressure - evidenced by the fact he's already beaten Webb even after being tied in points late in the season, and won SMX both times.
And with Deegan and Davies coming up, this might have been the last chance Sexton has at a title...
EDIT: Yes, I agree he's fast, arguably the fastest alongside Jett. My question is though, speed is not the only component, there's 2, mental and physical. Chase has the physical component locked down, he can go fast, but can he put together the mental component needed to win championships.

Chase is the fastest dude on the planet when he is on it, Chase is the guy who consistently beats Chase.
To be fair, after he got stuck in the gate he didn't do it again. That clearly shows his ability to learn from a situation and improve 😅
well, what else can you really say if you're Chase? All he can do is LEARN and use it for the FUTURE. What's the alternative? "Well, I suck and make dumb errors too much. I should probably hang 'em up"? Noooo....
Wasn't he an underdog to forkner like Webb was to AC? both of them are doing just fine.

Just be be sure we're talking about the same guy: This is the same Chase Sexton that has a 450 supercross title in 2023, 250 supercross titles in 2019 and 2020, a 450 motocross title in 2024? Yeah, seems pretty hopeless for this guy to ever figure it out.
Guy just rattled off 7 SX wins. Perhaps we are overreacting
I think part of it is, he probably could have had 10 and probably should have won the championship without 10 wins.
Triple crown throw away
Hitting the starting gate
Crash in the whoops while leading
Daytoner issues...crash and fade (probably ran out of adrenaline, because he looked great before fading)
Crashed out of 2nd and allowed JCoop by
I think Foxborough was more about Webb willing himself to the front, so I give him a pass there. However, there were multiple times where he should have gained more points. I hope he does learn from this, after Eli I like Chase more than anyone else.
And, in addition, Sexton doesn’t Sexton anywhere near as much as he’s done in the past.
I think Sexton has reduced his Sextoning to a point where sextoning wouldn’t be called a Sexton, even by Sexton..
So, you’re saying he’s done Sextoning?
A lot of guys throw it away every year. There can only be one champ… the one who throws it away the least. Chase has tossed it a few times and had his struggles but he’s human. Not everyone is MC or RC. Hope we see the best of him this summer to go up against ET and Jett. Could be epic. He has the speed.
Remember having this kind of discussion about Eli Tomac a few years ago (the Elito Mac years)? Absolutely Sexton can figure out. Only time will tell if he does. Even if he does, I'm sure being so close still stings, along with all the wins he could have had by now.
I stopped reading when OP said the guy with two 450 championships doesn't have the mental component necessary to win competitive championships......
He's one Jcoop not refusing to pass his teammate away from having won another one this year.....
He's 25......
Of the supposed competitive guys right now he's the only one who raced more races than he's watched from the couch lately.....
I think chase is going to be OK......
Hate deegs, but he did what was needed to win the championship.
Chase just hands webb the title. No contact, no crossed eyes, just here ya go buddy!!
its his racecraft & his race iq , tht aspect of his game hasent caught up to his skillset & talent yet , other than tht he’ll be iight
I disagree. Jett Lawrence is.
Sexton's pass on Webb in Denver was probably more aggressive than Deegan's pass on Davies. Webb didn't let the contact take him down in Denver. He let Chase by on a rhythm section to avoid going into the corner with him this last race. There just might be a difference racing Webb compared to Davies. Davies is very fast and talented, but he's still a kid. Webb is as tough, gritty, and smart a racer as there is.
Crossed eyes? What am I missing here?
