Say what you want but the guys is a winner. He wouldnt have even been in this position if he hadnt stepped up and won last week when all the marbles were on the table. Before that he was up a billion points going into foxboro and was ahead of everybody he needed to be in front of when he got a freak last place after a tip over in a tsunami. So many ups and downs but when it was all on the line he delivered.
He got the start and stayed right where he needed to be to take advantage. I said it when it was happening in real time that hammaker being an idiot and dicking around with juju was gonna cost him. He was more worried about bashing into people than running away and the last time he bashed juju it allowed hanpshire to make up and entire section on him in seconds. Letting the guy with the nickname “rj gonna do rj things” is never a good idea. Rj then comes in and does rj things and they both go down. Seth let rj catch all the way up screwing with juju, then goes to the outside with rj closing in to pass him, then instead of backing off and letting rj by he falls over on top of rj when he gets hit.
Vialle has shown that you can make your own luck in this sport and he has the medals to prove it. Congrats to vialle and I think hes gonna be a beast on the 450 with all that power.
Also even tho it ended bad congrats to hammaker on an incredible season he really has become one of the top guys and consistently too. It would have been a cinderella story to win it all, but going into the future hes shown that hes gonna be a problem now. He should def hang his head high on a successful season.

yup he's a winner, only took Kitchen and Anstie to get hurt and RJ to annihilate Seth.
Edit: congrats to Tom, without the mud race it wouldn't have been this close to begin with. Still devastated for Seth to lose it that way though.
If it was his first championship sure, but this is his second title. He beat deegan last year straight up and they both got taken out in the first corner of the first race. Webb also had a million ppl crash out of the 450 class but he earned that title and was there at the end. Racing smart is a part of winninng and both seth and rj were racing dumb when it counted most.
If I could go that fast without crashing out it woulda been me up there.
How was Seth racing dumb? I like Tom, but man both of his titles just feel so lucky. Still gotta be it to win it though. I just feel bad for Seth, that was his.

Two time MX2 world champion and now two time supercross champion. The guy is doing something right.
Seth was bumping into vialle, then started going back n forth with juju instead of either staying behind him or just passing him and running away. He let rj erase an entire rythm section sized gap in a few seconds because he was trying to stuff juju, go back and watch how much time rj gains. Rj catches all the way up to his back wheel and then in 2 more corners with rj right up his ass seth goes to the outside and gets creamed by rj. Dude youre in a CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT. Theres a pretty high chance rj is gonna run it in on you.
He either should have protected his line or backed off and gave it to rj, but instead he goes outside and doesnt let up and so when rj goes full rj and hits him he falls on top of him and theyre both down.
He was ahead of both rj and vialle, thats literally the ONLY thing that mattered in this race. Stop smashing into guys and worry about keeping the gap on hampshire, but instead by screwing with juju rj closed right up on him, rj rj’d, and the rest is history.
Tom misses main events next year on the 450
I'm slightly confused by that statement.. you mean just like 70% of the other factory riders by injury or by literally not qualifying for mains?
Bumping into Vialle, when? He just passed him. Back and forth with Juju, WHEN?? He passed Juju, who made it seem like he was going to get out their fight, then the next corner tries to run him off the track... It wasn't even like he was going at it with RJ, RJ just straight up kamikazed him on the first pass attempt. Otherwise Seth likely would've been smart enough to just let him go.
In the press conference Juju said there weren't team tactics which was such bs. He said it was because Seth got into him in the first corner. So when Deegan cleans him out he's too p***sy to retaliate, but he okays with retaliating when the other rider is going for a championship he's not involved in at all....I like Juju but idk why he's trying to be mr tough guy now smh
also no team tactics, but he just pulls clear out the way for Hampshire... give me a break
Tonight was a case where being lucky was better than being good for Vialle.
Pop has been smoking too much of the Ganja.
He’s French, by the way. ‘Nuff said.
having two titles and only 3 main event wins is pretty amazing,
By not qualifying
Let’s not forget that Tom won his second MX2 title by crashing while leading the last race, taking out Geerts who was absolutely hounding him and most likely going to pass and win. Im not trying to discredit him at all, but he is one lucky guy.
I got no dog in this fight, but man you can’t have it both ways. You’re saying Hammaker didn’t bump into Vialle and Juju ran Hammaker off the track, when both incidents were exactly the same move.
Except Hammaker did actually bump and run Vialle off the track. There was nothing wrong with either move imo, just racing.
Let’s remember no one expected Hammaker to be in the position to be fighting for the championship, a position he hasn’t been in before, and I think that inexperience showed. However he’s had a breakout year and will be all the better for it.
I fully expect him to be a title favourite next year.
You can list all the circumstances in the world, but someone does not just luck into two world and two SX championships in five years.
Say what you want. He’s a great racer and deserving champion, but he got lucky twice.

Pit Row
Ummm...
You, uh, but, I mean...
Oh, nevermind. You'll see. 😄
just because they were in the same corner doesn't make them the exact same move... Seth took Tom's line away at the apex and there wasn't even any contact. The reason Tom got as close as he did to the tough blocks was because he stood the bike up. That pass was really clean, especially under the circumstances. Juju looks over, lets Seth go, and then straight up hip check him the next corner... did you watch the race? What inexperience showed? He just straight up got robbed.
go re-watch the race and tell me those were "exactly" the same passes
Explain. Also explain why what I posted doesn't work.
There's no opening for that position.
But perhaps it's just semantics?
Seth got bullied by the Austrian group, and it ended with Vialle getting a championship. Is what it is.
Did you not see this comment I was responding to?
Hammaker left the barn door open for a rival championship contender he knew was there. That rival needed him to finish more than one place behind.
He should be a good bit wiser next time...
He may of not been the best rider race to race, but a champion is a champion for stringing together better results over X number of rounds.
Tom did that, he will go down in history as a 2X SX champion and back to back at that. His odds were stacked against him but he has the plate. Congratulations to him.
I remember Tim Ferry winning it without winning a single race the whole year in 97? Then in the GPs Josh Coppins dominating in 07 before picking up a season ending injury due to a rear brake failure on arguably the worst part of the track - leaving (until then second fiddle) Steve Ramon to pick up the pieces... You can always make an argument one way or the other, and go over endless 'what ifs?' etc but ultimately you have to be somewhat competent and near the front to win it over a series/season. And anyone who can do that is deserving if things happen to go their way.
4 titles now... As above the guy is doing something right.
Congrats Tom!
I don't dislike Vialle but he backed into that title. He did everything possible not to win the thing but the rest of the 250e field wanted him to have it lol. He won't be winning the MX or SMX crowns with that strategy
We said the same thing about Sexton and still do, look where he is
I think Sexton was the fastest and best rider this year.
Cooper was the best opportunist and bountiful over 17 rounds, which means overall acording to the championship plate, he was the best overall rider in the season.
He had a really good start to the race. Perfect start strategy and good pace in the beginning. Pulled away from Seth. Then he started making mistakes and it threw him off. Maybe Beaumer on his rear wheel was irritating too.
If he doesn't make those mistakes people would now be in here praising how clutch he is and how he raises to the occasion. Crazy how 7 minutes of a race can change the narrative. First half of the race it looked like the nerves got to Seth. Then he turned it around.
Seth deserved the title but Tom was there to capitalize when he needed to. What a weird season though. None of those 3 would have been even close on the West with the amount of mistakes they made. Don't think any of them will win any 450 titles.
