That's cool and all but its nothing compared to profeshenal125s double boost port with mirror polished cases 92 cr125 that you just have to tap the clutch lever to send it into hyperspace mode. so tell them nice try 😎

I found that interesting as well. I have a 19 with bolt-on mods and I went up to a 49 rear, as Keefer and I think MXA suggested. It was really noticeable to me, in a positive way. You do shift even more than normal, however. But I wonder how much more hp this bike puts out than mine, to use a somewhat extreme gearing change. I know the newer engine has less bottom and more top than mine though, so that could also be part of it.

Farmer J, as ratonmacias said, the old engine was out-performing the new one when Mitch was tuning all of the basic stuff but yeah once they messed with the cdi they were able to get it more out of it. Mitch had RV's 18-19 bike running pretty good though. That bike was sweet.

I had a 50t on my bike; barely fits with the stock chain. Changed to diggers jetting specs and put the 49 back on. Noticed the bike is a lot more responsive with new jetting especially in the low to mid transition. I’ve talked to some faster riders with yz125s and the general consensus seems to be add 1 to 2 teeth to the rear. I forgot what crazy sprocket RV ran on his was like a 52 or 3.

It’s a 04 I,m surprised u old Koots don’t remember the original DBP. It was a 91 RM125 some mag flew to Japan to test the pre production RM.  and where blown away it was the quickest & fastest 125 ever. Then the RM was tested here & it wasn’t very fast. They  pulled the cylinder off something u never do on a new bike to find the problem.  They discovered there was no double boost port.  Suzuki said too expensive or casting difficults .  Many yrs later we decided to try it on a under developed 04 cr125. With Great success except for spinning main shafts . I think we hv it figured out now with the Quad Zilla 500cc main shafts.  Many other cylinder tricks including , Code 38 on the exhaust port outer lip.  A sharp point 38  degree angle , hence the name code 38.  But Mitch,s Yz 125 that thing sounds Great & Looks quick and Very hyper Strong threw the mid.  And very similar to the DBP . I hv a diff taper carb bore , a lot more fuel rushing the engine.  ViITAL MX should bring it to amateur day at the nationals . Millville in the 125 class for sure to take part of TFish & I,s showdown. Haha.  And Red Bud for 2 days of pro track & 2 nights of racing.  If the PC bike sounds Great in a video I,m sure in real life it’s nuts.  Hv a contest to win a ride or ?

Yeah I thought the 49t made the bike super responsive and will pull 2nd/3rd so hard in corners (for whichever is appropriate.) I really like that, especially for someone like me that will still make mistakes and want the recovery. And I'm used to shifting a bunch since I have a YZ250F, which needs shifted frequently, in my opinion. I think RV's bike had a flywheel weight to help spread the power out. So maybe even though his gearing was pretty extreme, it didn't spool through the curve so fast, which the Yamahas tend to do? I'm not sure.

On the very top but it takes .2-.3 seconds every corner to get the 19.9 ft lbs of torque. Add in deep sand & loam in the Midwest it takes time to get max power.  A quick engine with 19.9 & 39 has it beat.  Add up 18 corners & hills it’s 5.4 seconds slower a lap.  My bike is a 04 cr125 still has the trait of hv to keep momentum but it’s easy to ride , clutch every corner 18 ft lbs on the hit then it rushes the build to 19.9 .  A Ktm killer on quickness .  Another night hardly any sleep idiots said race to shipper park in dock 7 open at 6am.  They open at 7am del in another st at 9am . But it’s 3 1/2 hrs with out traffic, charlotte has traffic & tge whole way here.  New Orleans port f job , atl at midnight f job impossible to make money.  Sitting at a Sc. Ts had to buy a new gps so that sucks that’s 5 pistons. Petro had a 07 new cr250 hanging by the restaurant bar , large bowling alley too Columbia sc.IMG 3238 0.jpeg?VersionId=2p3pkULnWpbVHgARjDcrBj

The good ole Quaker Steak and Lube.  My favorite, the Bristol location (I think it is Mike Brown's bike they have there, which makes sense). 👍

125s are probably the most annoying sounding bike around.

That's cool and all for unobtanium double boost ports, but for immediate off idle mid hit level power, I install a STIC/PWK Super X 38/40mm carb. Top end speed is like getting a 7th gear. Fueling with 80 pilot and 205 main and the pilot feeds the needle jet tube above intermediate idle RPM. Stawk engine is all that's needed. YAT

I knowed a couple 125 riders that removed the original less potent STIC version, as too much happening, too soon. They didn't bother detuning for less mayhem.

The low end grunt won't sign-off on slow steep technical climbs. Freaky, bc no clutching needed down at 1700 RPM, 1700 whilst blasting throttle WFO in 3rd gear. No bog. That's a buddies YZ125X with dropped rear teeth and taller 210 tire on an 18" rim.

No worries. Everyone is entitled to an opinion... no matter how wrong they are. 😄

To many of us they sound like relentless fury and aggression - exactly how racing should sound. 👍

Admirable.

As everyone knows, the first step in getting help is admitting you have a problem. 😄

I went up 2 teeth on my wife's 2020 yz125 with hgs pipe on it to help get it out of corners. It would pull forever on top but had nothing off the bottom. I ended up putting a DEP torque pipe on it and went back to standard gearing.

The 2022 on wards have less bottom than the previous generation so i'm not surprised people adding 2 teeth on them

No over sized radiators for the Long motos ?   Keeping an engine a little cooler is also easier on parts.  It’s supposed to be a record Hot summer .  I was thinking about bigger radiator for the left side only.  The pipe is too close to the radiator for a extra tank welded on or a longer radiator.   What r the opinions on ovr sized radiators for 125,s ?

what would a mod engine like that gain in hp and torque compared to the stock one?

if builders are using a dyno, most i've talked to/heard from a good mod 125 should get around 10-15% increase. if it dynos at 35 stock that means up around 38-40 hp with pipe, fuel, cdi, porting, head. .
