Absolute beauty of a machine. 2stroke YZs are just so cool. A bike that's been around for so long and can still perform and turn heads, when done up like that. Good stuff.

Sick bike, and I'm sure it rips, but I imagine there are some 125 rippers out there that have more than cylinder porting and an ECU done to their YZ125s.

It's the right colour and it has a carb too 😍

I’m surprised by the 51 tooth rear. Really cool build! Makes me want to mod my 24s motor.

Had no clue the rack pipe for the new yzs is the rv spec?

Do it PC porting is Very responsible. PC YZ,s sound soo Sweet.  Tell them set it up for c12 though the other fuel is pricey. I can get c12 in bulk for 7.50 a gal.  I,m a little surprised by the gearing too maybe it was for the big hills.  I run stock gearing & thinking about dropping a tooth.  Ha your in ETown I used to work for a tanker co there I know the town .

what would a mod engine like that gain in hp and torque compared to the stock one?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I swore i heard mitch say he could get a little more from the previous yz125 motor. Supposedly not as much to gain on this newer version. Obviously they had nearly 20 years to mod the older gen.

Quite a bit more but quicker too. Not sure where PC is at exactly now being that there still tweaking it & using the shelf pipe now. But I got aprox 39 & 19,9 torque stock ignition, iKat, Rad valve . I did a lot of tweaking on the pv for smoother operation.  Twin air power flow cage , holes in air box.  Engine builders seem to go for gains everywhere now & use different terms . Like front side for bottom end , mid & back side top end.  I wanted quick responding & a real strong & long mid going into top end ovr rev. I usually quick shift but u can run a gear out too.  A 125  built to run on c12 u wouldn’t believe how strong they are . And Super fun.   Nightmare out here I,m done soon .  I can ,t wait to race in a few weeks.

from what i understood (pulpmx show after seattle sx) the previous mod engine was better than the new one until he switched the cdi on the newer engine. after the new cdi the newer engine is supposed to be more powerful.

I had Jim Haeseker build my 22TC 125 and he said the mods I got take it from 38 hp to 41-42 hp. It’s pretty damn impressive how clean it runs too. So much fun!

On the very top but it takes .2-.3 seconds every corner to get the 19.9 ft lbs of torque. Add in deep sand & loam in the Midwest it takes time to get max power.  A quick engine with 19.9 & 39 has it beat.  Add up 18 corners & hills it’s 5.4 seconds slower a lap.  My bike is a 04 cr125 still has the trait of hv to keep momentum but it’s easy to ride , clutch every corner 18 ft lbs on the hit then it rushes the build to 19.9 .  A Ktm killer on quickness .  Another night hardly any sleep idiots said race to shipper park in dock 7 open at 6am.  They open at 7am del in another st at 9am . But it’s 3 1/2 hrs with out traffic, charlotte has traffic & tge whole way here.  New Orleans port f job , atl at midnight f job impossible to make money.  Sitting at a Sc. Ts had to buy a new gps so that sucks that’s 5 pistons. Petro had a 07 new cr250 hanging by the restaurant bar , large bowling alley too Columbia sc.IMG 3238 0.jpeg?VersionId=2p3pkULnWpbVHgARjDcrBj

I found that interesting as well. I have a 19 with bolt-on mods and I went up to a 49 rear, as Keefer and I think MXA suggested. It was really noticeable to me, in a positive way. You do shift even more than normal, however. But I wonder how much more hp this bike puts out than mine, to use a somewhat extreme gearing change. I know the newer engine has less bottom and more top than mine though, so that could also be part of it.

Farmer J, as ratonmacias said, the old engine was out-performing the new one when Mitch was tuning all of the basic stuff but yeah once they messed with the cdi they were able to get it more out of it. Mitch had RV's 18-19 bike running pretty good though. That bike was sweet.

With all due respect... Are you fucked in the head? 😆

That wasn't very nice, you didn't need to say "with all due respect" 😆

Fun bikes, but I'll stick with my upgraded 200SX. Tho. it only revs to 9k, it has the sound still.
