Yeah just an accent thing. I can still remember being a teenager and hearing for the first time how Bailey said Yarmahar in a Nationals broadcast, I laughed my ass off. Years later working at a Yamaha dealership we used to mimic that accent around the shop.
But you know what? Not for one minute did we think any less of Bailey or any other American because of their accent. Funny thing to be offended by. Says more about you than them.

Honda.. with an A. But he adds the ER to words that end in A. So he has the ability to say coopER but then adds the A to say Coopa. Say cooper like he says Honda and he would say it correctly.
