I'm visiting the Netherlands and have a free weekend in May. Since I have a rental car, I planned to check out some local tracks. Lommel and Valkenswaard came to mind, but their social media is dead. Are they still open? If you only had one weekend, which tracks would you check out? I''d like to keep it under 1.5 hours from Eindhoven. I’m just planning to spectate and take some photos.
Lelystad usually has Pro day on Wednesdays.
Last time i was there Febvre, Seewer, DeWolf, and a couple random Yamaha MX2 guys were training.
About 45 minutes east of Amsterdam. Dutch championship is racing at the track on May 4.

Lommel is open most every day in May for training, but it is a bit of a drive.

Lommel is only around 45 mins from Eindhoven. I have ridden lommel then stayed the night in Eindhoven a few times, and trust me after a day at lommel you do not want to drive far!
You're almost certain to see a few pros there on any given day unless there's a race on somewhere else. I think it's open everyday except Monday, from after lunch to the evening if I remember right.
If you are in Eindhoven, there is a motocross track / kart circuit / jetski pool right next to the airport.

That’s on Tuesdays!
This is a pretty cool track. Went by there last year after Lommel GP and they had some schools going on. Looked fun to ride.
If youre free weekend is on the 18th of May, you should go to the Dutch Masters in Markelo!
Its about 1,5 hours from Eindhoven.
First off all its a great and special track and you could see some great riders from GP stars to the young fast kids on the 85cc!
Otherwise I should visit Lommel,Eindhoven or Berghem on the weekend. Those places are busy on the weekend and you will see the most riders.
Arnhem could also be an option on a Sunday morning.
You could go to Valkenswaard or Lierop on a evening to check out the tracks. Its not that far from Eindhoven
I actually do have a free weekend on the 18th. I was planning to spend the weekend in Amsterdam. If this is the track address this actually looks a bit closer to Amsterdamn than Eindhoven E Potdijk 9, 7475 SL Markelo, Netherlands
Lekker. My Mom is from Holland . There farm was near the German boarder in ww2. It’s a camp ground now. A sand track series between Holland and, Wisconsin , Michigan, Massachusetts & Florida riders . Would be so awesome . I think it would come down to who the most talented riders where. But I think Wi. Would hv the most in the top 10. Red Bud is the biggest turnout 30A has Wi. District 16 in #1& 2 . 25A a 3rd . The 125 class would be a barn burner ..
If you are in a rental car just be careful, there are traffic cameras everywhere! Also low emissions zones in certain city centers too. Not sure if you have to pre register to drive into some of those or not in the Netherlands (maybe some locals could weigh in on this). I got a ticket in Belgium after MXON 2024 for driving on the freeway around the outskirts of Antwerp because of a low emissions zone, even though the rental car was compliant. I got the ticket because I did not register it in advance. At that point I realized it was obviously about the money, not the emissions. Don't know if they will do you like that in the Netherlands though.
Still enjoy visiting Europe, but every time I have driven there I have gotten at least 1 ticket per trip mailed to me in the US (trying to navigate all of the laws with cameras everywhere is difficult), but I have never gotten a single ticket in 33 years of driving in the US, so its not like I am some reckless scofflaw, lol
Yes that adress is close to the track! Its easy to get there, if youre either from Eindhoven or Amsterdam. Its all motorway and track is not far from that!
If you could go and get a shot to visit a Dutch Masters i should go…
Who knows and you might see Herlings race one off the last times on Dutch soil…
MC LIDU den Dungen right outside of Den Bosch is also a pretty fun track with a hard base if you get tired of the sand!
Man I miss the Amsterdam track, used to be such an amazing place to he at and ride. As mentioned above Veldhoven/Eindhoven (same track) is probably your best option. Quite a fun track and because it’s next to the airport and so there is noice and emission anyway it’s one of the only tracks that’s open more than 2 days a week.
If you’re in Amsterdam and looking for a nice place to eat, let me know. We just opened a new restaurant in de Jordaan which is in the heart of Amsterdam. Always nice to cook for fellow riders!
Just a heads up so that you actually can ride... I'm not sure how it works exactly, but you will need to have a dutch license or maybe an international/fim license to actually be allowed to ride on the track. This is checked before you enter the track.
Probably some dutchies on this forum can tell you how it works exactly
Damn 33 years, I wish I had your luck? I've heard the horror stories about the cameras but not the emissions. I heard a rumor my company only allows EV rentals in the NL's which really upset me since I don't want to be making stops to charge. Now you mentioned the emissions thing maybe this why they only rent EV's. Thanks for the heads up.
I was planning on just spectating. Pretty sure my health insurance would leave me to die on the sidewalk outside the US so didn't want to risk it.
Pit Row
Do any pro's / fast guys ride these tracks during the week? I noticed sunset is ~9PM so hopfully after work there might be some action to check out. I decided the 18th I will check out the Dutch masters race and knock about Amsterdam so that just leaves after work during the week.
Lommel and Berghem ride alot of fast guys, and the locale that ride there alot are fast to 😉
