RC, you're barking up the wrong tree with your post here. 

No one debates your status as a motocross and supercross racer, therefore, there is no 'revisionist history' as you say. People do want to listen to you, it's just that you are unable to get your thoughts from your brain to your mouth in a coherent fashion. I do have to disagree with your statement that you offer great insight every time you open your mouth. You usually offer nothing more than bland platitudes, ohhhs and ahhhs, and stock phrases well past their used by date. In regards to your question of how did this start? It started when you stated your commentary career and proceeded to butcher all known commentating standards along with the English language - a language of which you have little to no facility. 

Mashed potato mouth Ricky does say some dumb stuff sometimes, but he doesn't ruin broadcasts like these lunatics on here make it out. It's obnoxious and it's infected comment sections everywhere. I have seen commentators come and go over the 30 years I've watched SX, I've never had an issue that I felt was worth posting about like these people do. We're living in the best time ever as a fan and these people make life miserable. 

In Summary (thanks AI). 

Supporters of Ricky Carmichael as a commentator defend him not for linguistic skill, but for:

His racing pedigree

His genuine, unscripted reactions

The trust and identity he brings to broadcasts as a legend of the sport

They accept his verbal stumbles as the price of authenticity over professionalism.

I dont know that anyone doubts RCs pedigree as the most successful racer of all time....

As for the criticism,  he set the standard by criticizing and ridiculing most co commentators that also used to be racers.  His cheap shots at Emig and Blair back in the day were lame. 

Probably the same people that hate on Gypsy tales. If its not RC, they take it out on Will. 

This one will be “hidden due to down votes” rather quickly if I had to guess.

RC's broadcasting stibks on ice. Its been awful from the jump and i remember when he first started. Everyone was like, um yeah he'll get better. Well he hasnt. He's terrible and this experiment needs to end. Everyone that defends him says the same thing. He's the GOAT and he would still smoke you!! Um, ok? I have kids on 85's blow my doors off on the regular but i dont want them to announce sx. I'm a squid. Is RC good now? No, thats not how it works. 

RC offers great insight? Like every race when he predicts whats going to happen and it doesn't? Just this last race, he said how Chase was going to get by Webb and there was nothing Coop could do. Or when a guy almost crashes and RC goes "oooooohhhh!" Good stuff Rick. James isnt the best but HE gives you insight. He'll tell you what the bike is doing and how a guy is setting up a secrion to pass someone. Is the RC hate overblown? Yup. He didnt help his case by being a spiteful child. Im just praying we have someone else announcing mx. 

I just want the people talking during the race to talk about the race.

Imagine if you couldn't see the screen but could hear the audio, Would you have the slightest idea what was happening?

No, and even when they try to articulate the action they are so bad at it it’s a joke.

What the hell does his skill at his previous career have to do with his new job that he clearly sucks at?
Nobody is taking anything away from this racing career, clearly.

They take it out on Will because her vapid ramblings during key moments of the race add nothing to the broadcast and most people freaking hate her voice. 

Same goes for RC, most of the time he opens his mouth nothing really comes out of it, when he's not being incoherent he's trying to predict stuff that almost always never happen. He sucks at his job and should be replaced.

As for gypsy, i like his show. 🙂

No one "HATES" RC. He is the Goat, the best ever but he ain't cutting it in the booth to our standards. I listen to him and move on when he gets annoying....

We all need to stop bitching and watch the fucking racing.

Thousands of us watch the racing and it will be impossible for RC or anyone to keep us all happy with commentary.

Little Virginas complain....the rest of us focus on the important stuff.....the actual racing.

That’s your opinion and other people have theirs. It should not be that hard of a concept to understand but somehow you think people goofing on his announcing skills are trying to rewrite history about his racing results? Why are you conflating the two?

"Impartial observers" don't usually have emotionally fueled outbursts on the internet.

I don't think I've seen ONE post on here discrediting RC's accomplishments regarding ANYTHING other than his broadcast career. 

He's bad at his job. Period. I honestly can't think of one actual insight he's provided on the TV broadcast. Not one. Whether that's due to the producers handcuffing him, his extremely weak grasp on the English language, his fear of being ridiculed for a hard take, who knows. But he adds nothing to the broadcast.

Just because he was the absolute greatest to ever do it in this sport doesn't automatically get him that job for YEARS. Should it have gotten him the opportunity? Absolutely. But he's proven year after year there are much better options to have that seat.

Flame away man, I'm just the opposite side of the coin that you're one. So yeah I get it, I'm part of the "problem" or whatever.

And yet NONE of that comes out on the broadcast. That's the thing you are refusing to acknowledge.
