If it was in Europe yes. I think with it being at Ironman they can stick out a couple more weeks

KTM makes the most sense of the options that seem available.

Apparently he rode a few different bikes.

And he can rev it too the moon. As I said before, if him and barcia are on that bike, they will be getting a whole lot of data and durability testing in from day one.

It is noteworthy that Eli indicated he planned to come back with a few SX races remaining and now that has gone completely quiet. Perhaps a shift in priorities.

Long time luker here first time to post or respond. I noticed he is on the Pre Entry list for Denver.  I do not remember seeing him on the entry list for earlier rounds.

Yeah but an all new bike and no Supercross next year makes me scratch my head as to why he would do it. It’s not like he wants to ride 3 more years.

I don’t think the no supercross thing is confirmed. Rumors they will do sx.

Apparently he's shopping for a 2 year deal.

And whatever their plans were, if you got a chance to grab an Eli Tomac, you make things happen. If they didn't plan SX, I'm sure they can make it happen if they had to.

KTM with the steel frame, and the financial issues coupled with the rumor that he’s looking for more than a one-year deal…

Triumph apparently feeling like they aren’t ready for a top-tier rider yet…

I’d put a few bucks on Ducati being the one he goes with for next year.

A lot of people mention the fact that it’s a new bike, and the idea that he wouldn’t want to have to basically develop the bike before he rides off into the sunset. I think he’ll probably make anything work for him as long as it has the power, which this bike most certainly will. I think he’d be okay taking the risk here at the end.

It’s not like handling will be an issue… he was putting minutes on the field on the old dual exhaust ‘13-‘16 CRF a decade ago. I would assume the Ducati handles better than those bikes a whole decade later.

How many DNFs though does he have if he goes Ducati?  I feel like there have been a couple in the GPs this year...

If Eli goes to KTM...basically a bankrupt motorcycle company...I'd be frigging stunned. Out of all the manuf, KTM has to be dead ass last on his list.

Not only DNFs but seems like every year we hear about bike malfunctions causing injuries. That would have to be considered as well

It's my understanding that it's between an Austrian brand and Ducati. Trimuph was in the discussion, but they have said they're not ready for a rider of Eli's caliber.

This isn't some second-cousin twice-removed gossip. It's legit info, and to prove it, here's my source. https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/moto-related/eli-out-yamaha?page=0

Make anything work? If his rear end is 2mm low he gets arm pump. And I'm a HUGE Tomac fan.

That "old" bike was new when he was doing that. He's a beast, but he's also a bit finicky on bike setup. That's been well-documented. So a brand new motorcycle is probably not the best idea.

I have zero inside info, but I would think a personal deal on a Yamaha is still on the table.

After Dungey, what rider has liked KTM? Has anyone really wanted to stay there in the last 7-8 years?

Maybe Marv did.  But that's about all who I could think of.   Smile

I hope that Ducati is as serious about MX/SX as they are in MotoGP, that would be awesome and shake up the sport.

Well, if you want KTM to go 100% belly up, put Eli on the orange pile of crap. He'll smoke that hydro clutch into oblivion and probably finish 50% of the races he enters due to suspension issues and mech failure. That will be the nail in the coffin of KTM.
