Tim Gajser Injury Update?

He posted on IG that it was a dislocated shoulder that was out until after the xray 

I'm having a hard time understanding why, if it was intentional, the track had built in kickers along the perimeter? If it was just a coincidence, that's terrible luck for Tim, but Malin's explanation made it sound like its pretty standard?

it was on the edge of the track where he lost his front end and the back wheel hits a little tiny pile of grass and it kicks sideways.....he went over the bars and hit the ground hard.

He went off the track or well pushing the track limits 

It looks like they had built up some dirt bumps or curbs to mark the edge of the track. He would have saved it if his back wheel didn't slide into one and kick him over the bars. They definitely look like they're there on purpose. 

Not to mention the A-Stars guy standing on one with his back to oncoming traffic. That's a serious injury waiting to happen.

The worst part is its inside the track marker. If Tim was outside of the marker and technically off the race course, i guess it's maybe a little less egregious, but that too me, is absurd. 

I don't think he was saying it's intentional. I think his point was it's not uncommon but it's irresponsible by the track builder. 

Damn! The injury train is just terrible this year.

I think he hits one with his front wheel first coming out of the turn and that unsettled the bike and kicked the back end into the next one. They put piles of dirt on the edge of the track as “markers”. You can see them everywhere. But they look to basically be concrete. 

Damn that sucks for tim track was sketchy . 2 weeks off will help his situation but dislocated shoulder doesnt look good. Renaux and guillod massive get offs also.

I thought it was a water bar for drainage from the looks of the video. Two of them; one unsettled him, one spun him around. I think the main track line was tilled but the water bar off the main line (but still on the track) remained. 

Seen too many injuries and lost seasons or careers from stuff on edges on track over the years. If your building tracks or are a promoter you need to realize these guys are going balls out and racing not riding where you think they should.  Seen Tim Fiery get off and almost impale himself on a  steel T fence posts for banners that were on side of track in a fast roller section .  This sport is brutal enough without this type off crap.

Very true, inside the track marker is egregious.

Whatever the purpose, having those mounds inside the track markers is bullshit. Move the markers in or the mounds out.

it all started with his front suspension (new Kayaba) couldn't handle a bump right on the dirt track and went wrong 🫣

Get well Tim!  For someone who has a history of gnarly crashes and a body made of rubber, he has had massive consistency the past few years, he flipped that page big time until this one.  For the other riders in the gate, that championship just got unexpectedly blown wide the F open.. That series was starting to look like what is almost BAU the Tim show again.  While none of them want to see a rider injured, the race for the championship suddenly looks a whole lot different.  My money is on a consistent Febvre.  

Shoulder injuries suck…he was flirting with edges of the track looking for smooth lines….bummer but championship is wide open now, that shoulder will be hurting for months…

Is he out for the season now?

I can't believe they made him sit there for 30 minutes with a dislocated shoulder that causes more damage that didn't need to be done!

He will be fine. I broke my humerus at the ball in 3 pieces and dislocated it out the back. It was 12 hours before they were able to get it back into place. Couldn’t move 3 fingers for a month from the nerves getting pinched and stretched. 30 minutes is nothing.

I got lucky in regards to hardware. He was able to get all the pieces together with 1 screw and a big washer. The hardware does bother me. I can’t sleep on that side anymore. At one point it felt like it was attached to the muscle and one day moving my arm there was a pop, after that it seemed to free it up. I think I have soft tissue damage but you know Kaiser, just fix the bone. One day when it bothers me enough, I’ll get it fixed. 

Damn I hadn't noticed that. That's insane. First there's a curb cut in between the racing surface and the grass, and then the speed bumps but the realize that all of this is technically within the track limits is just insane. 

How many gnarly crashes has this track produced? I swear so many guys die on this track every year...or am I crazy? 🤣

Yeah the Renaux crash was pretty bad too. That track is well sketchy.
