Why is it any of our business?

It helps riders make more money when their salaries are public.

Yes, I understand that aspect, but why should it be any of our business? If the teams do that for the riders, why not for the whole crew? Why not release the entire teams budget and sponsor commitments?

You are correct, they should open their books. In fact, all businesses should do the same. Would knowing that you make less money than your coworker who is less tenured and less skilled than you make it easier to make your case for a pay increase? Would knowing that the company you work for is cutting payroll while also recording record profits make it easier to quit and go find work with someone who isn’t doing that? Seems like it would benefit everyone other than those at the very top.

Because it helps keep the price down. If the avg fan knew what these guys make most would be in shocked!  A few people that never watched until they went to red bud with us. They thought privateers were making at least 100k+ a year. An there just some mid pack late model racers.

Why would it not benefit those at the top too? Do you really think the owners, executives and other stakeholders would put up with making less money?

The best chance is really a riders union, but the teams don't want that, and the riders don't seem to care enough to get together for it. The best chance was Las Vegas 1995, until Emig gave in.

By the way, under the NLRA, employees in the private sector have the right to discuss wages.

I wonder how much their bonuses are.

A gift card for Tim Hortons for $25 Canadian dollars that is for a win.

That's a great gig for an 8 race series. When you add for race and title bonuses, it's gotta be damn nice to have a ride with a team like GDR Honda.

Digger...and company...are a class act.

Cool to see that! Makes you wonder how many guys in the US are racing for free/bonus money? Or what the comparison between Canada and the US would be for salaried riders. I bet there are a lot of guys we think are getting paid big money that aren’t. I think it would be pretty eye opening!

If we could see the salaries of the US riders, how do you think it would change teams and the riders?

Because we’re fans of the sport and we’re curious.

If you’re not interested, don’t comment. Simple.

Does it say what sort of bonuses they are shooting for?  Would a race win up there be anything close a National win down here?  Assuming that the racer with no salary probably gets bonuses down farther in the results than the other two maybe?

Makes me wonder what Phil is getting paid?  I kind of though that Dylan might get more than that, but cool to see either way!!

You would be shocked at how many guys are paying to be on teams.

I'm a fan of the sport, not bank accounts.

If the riders are ok with releasing that info the no issues, but this thread sounds like nothing more than wanting to force teams and riders to do it, and that I cannot agree with.

It’s probably $5k-10k CAD per round win in 450 depending the team you’re riding for.

I’m sure some guys here might know better than me.
