Cutting Noaa isn't a popular opinion around these parts. Noaa is basically responsible for fish studies in the Gulf. What they do in a nutshell is provide data (from their studies) to agencies which then create fishing regulations based off their studies. Basically like size limits and regulations for commercial and rec fisherman. It helps greatly with the fish populations and keeping them healthy. That's just one thing they do.

I don't think people have forgotten what NASA has done. I think a lot of them--especially anyone born after Apollo 11-- simply never knew. Here's the best documentary ever done about NASA and a film that almost no one saw. If you have a pulse it will take your breath away.
America has been living well above its means for decades…unfortunately a lot of things (even good things) are going to have to be cut/reduced to right the ship for no other reason than we can’t afford them. It’s a necessary evil…and it’s far better than doing nothing and counting full steam ahead into economic collapse with unfettered and unchecked and unlimited spending…
We’re so in debt it’s laughable that doge thinks they can make a difference by these measures. The cuts they are making probably buy us a few hours on our interest payments alone. Hell even eliminating DOE would buy us a week. I personally would rather see us be able to forecast weather and enjoy our public lands (one of few remaining good things left in government.) It seems the priority is to focus on small items Americans actually find useful rather than focus on the big ticket items that would actually make a difference: such as social security, Medicaid, Medicare and defense. (Coming from a small government conservative)
It doesn't matter what you cut, somebody will always be disappointed, cutting Medicaid, Medicare and defense will disappoint the most people!
A lot of people who are on the government’s dole, are lazy and unmotivated. Go be a fly on the wall at some of these ibranchs, you’d be shocked.

We're sick and tired of being scammed into countless, idiotic decrees and taxation scams/mandates about the false claims of global warming/climate change propaganda.
We, rightfully, pulled out of the Paris accord, because it was all based on America footing the bill.
We're sick of the bullshit of, low flow water appliances, toilets, and showerheads.
And lightbulbs that don't truly light up a room.
We're seeing the absolute destruction of animal life due to offshore and onshore wind turbines.
Turbines that have been proven to provide far less power vs the mechanical/maintenance nightmare they've become.
We're seeing entire productive growing land plowed under for massive solar panel farms.
Farms that literally fry birds flying overhead.
We're tired of...
We're just tired of the bullshit.
But mostly, we're tired of our tax money being used to fund these "new studies" based on computer model predictions.
Predictions that have been fearmongered for decades, and have yet to materialize.
Sea's aren't rising.
Ocean's aren't warming.
Every year isn't, "the hottest on record".
The great barrier reef is alive and well.
Electric cars burn coal.
The list goes on.
We voted to stop being scammed out of our money.
And speaking of key words.
All of these climate change articles, and findings, use those key words.
Could.
May.
Might.
Possibly.
And many more.
But all can be changed out for one word to better describe them...
Fear.
Gotta keep that fear going on order to keep the money flowing.
People are getting filthy rich off of climate fearmongering.
No argument there. Hence my frustration in the haphazard approach to budgeting.
All I can say to that is I hope DOGE doesn’t chicken out and actually does it’s job and cuts deep enough and significantly enough to actually right the ship…and then I hope whatever administrations comes next doesn’t undo it alll because it’s painful (it will be) and some people dont like it….
You could always raise taxes, but taxpayers would be disappointed, what if we we raise tariffs and say other countries pay it.
Maybe we make it so all these big corporations and rich people actually pay taxes? If I can find a way to live life paying 30% or whatever in taxes I'm pretty sure people making real money can find a way. Same with companies. I'd love to see the math if we just did a flat tax situation. If we all paid 20% how would that pencil out? No I don't think the rich should pay MORE percentage wise but its insane that the average worker is taxed to death and the people well above us get away with paying nothing. These cuts are stupid and so small in relation to the overall spending. Yes we need to make cuts but there are two ways to get the deficit under control and they should be exploring both. But the recent obvious market manipulation with zero recourse shows us all that regular people will always be kept in our place while the billionaires keep getting all the advantages.

Sadly, as a society we failed the test a few years ago. Our government learned that if they can fear-monger enough, people will give up their life’s work, homes, contact with loved ones in their final hours, and tattle on their neighbors, all so they can feel “safe.”
A few things…first do you believe tariffs will make things more expensive for consumers (that the business will pass the cost of tariffs to their customers?) I’m assuming you do believe that…then…you also have to believe that raising tax rates on big corporations will also just make things more expensive for consumers, because if they will pass the cost of a tariff (tax) to consumers you can’t honestly believe they will just take the higher tax rates out of their bottom line…or do you believe that?
Second…if you support increasing revenue to help with the deficit, does that mean you support the tariffs? They are a tax to increase revenue…
Third…The fact that you think the rich “pay nothing” is crazy to me…It’s plain to see you’ve been educated off of talking points rather than having first hand knowledge of what is actually happening.
This country has a spending problem, NOT a revenue problem…nobody should have to pay more taxes in this country. It’s time to cut spending AND reduce the size and scope of the federal government….and cut it and reduce it so drastically that it actually does make a difference…and I’ll be very disappointed if DOGE/Trump doesn’t do that…it HAS to happen…the consequences of not

Tariffs are fine. But doing blanket tariffs on everything is stupid-they should be used to target/help specific industries and not as a catch all plan that will magicially fix our problems. We will never become a manufacturing powerhouse again. The damage is done and is irreversible now. Yes raising taxes on companies COULD raise prices, but when many industries have INSANE profits they can very easily absorb most of the taxes. Then there is the thing where rich people use every trick in the book to pay next to no taxes. Since you can easily look it up you can see that in 2016 and 2017 Trump only paid $750 in federal income tax. Do you think that should be able to be done when you're a billionaire? I doubt his situation was unique among the mega rich and they just laugh all the way to the bank while us idiots just keep footing the bill.
I heard a (R) Senator say that we are on a path to balancing the budget. These frauds just lie straight away and people cheer.

Also on kind of a side note, what a genius thing they have done to conflate “climate change” with actual environmental issues. It’s made things very murky. Of course climate change and green energy is a fraud! We can all see that, but because it’s been tied in with pollution for so long when the time comes (seemingly now) for people to start calling out for common sense and the dismantling of the green agenda (Marxist/zionist ideological Psyop) the inevitable consequence of this conflation is the complete deregulation of actual real concerns in regards to pollution. Pollution is real, Climate change is not.

The US Forest Service is cutting 7000. My neighbor told me August will be his last month and he is one of the cuts. Fortunately he is getting picked up by the private sector with our local lumber designing new logging roads. A govt layoff then getting a job in the private sector is a win win.
NASA and NOAA budget is combined about $40 billion. Meanwhile the are saying the defense budget will be $1 Trillion.

Hey Titan, the difference between tariffs and taxes are that for companies, tariffs are paid on inputs, taxes are paid on profits.
