It was, he was running akropovich versus Dungey who was using yoshimura :-)
Make you think though, what else was differernt? The engine, frame, tires? Suzuki world is sponsored by a different tire brand.....

his jersey had a Pirelli logo. I assume his bike had Pirelli tires mounted.

Yeah! If he had been on his own bike, he would have waxed Dungey like the bathroom floor. Just wait 'til the des' Nations. We'll get to see REAL world championship riders on 'full on' works bikes. Our guys will be lucky to stay on the same lap with that combo.

The buik of the engine and chassis was the same. He brought over suspension to use, but the brake rotor offset didn't work with the U.S. wheels, and he ended up having to use the Rockstar Makita Suzuki Showa suspension. He said it was stiffer (in the amount of flex) than what's used by the Rockstar Teka Suzuki team, and he wasn't quite used to that.

Why would their bikes be the same? They are 2 different riders from 2 different countries. That would lead me to think their setup would be completely different too, even if they are on the same brand of bike. Lame conspiracy theory.

And they were pretty darn close throughout the entire race, except Desalle said Dungey was faster than him in the press conference.

Ah, so you're saying the U.S. guys have been handicapped for years? And they're still winning?

I do think that qualifies as a bait...Even though I'm not totally sure who or what you are trying to get on that hook :-)

I wonder if CD will ask for the US suspension, from now on, after being forced to use it over here?

Looks like it suited him pretty well. That was a good race!

I think he prefers his own.... he just sucked it up and still was fast... Desalle is always that fast I don't know why Americans are so surprised he ran with Dungey.. he did the same at the nations last year.. not much has changed.

Pretty sure Teka Suzuki runs KYB suspension on there Suzukis in the MXGP's. At least last yeat they did and im almost positive they do again this year. Id like to hear what Desalle thinks of the Showa suspension compared to his KYB stuff other than it being stiffer. It seemed to work for him whatever the case he was on the gas.
