I believe that DeCoster is a pillar of integrity.

There is no way that I would except the notion that he told James he would give him a shot and then renege on it.

It could very well be that Roger observed L&M prior to the Unadilla race and, armed with more info than we have, decided that James was not serious.

We don't know now. I'm thinking more details will be coming out.

I'm not sure that Southwick will be the best test for James. If Dungey is smart, and we know he is, he's not going to get caught in a pissing match on track with James.

I'm thinking all those races dealing with the JLaw antics have put Dungey in place to handle the James PR machine with ease.

Well, there's no doubt he and his team put a lot of effort and spent a lot of money to race at his least favorite track in the country, so he could have a shot at the MXDN, and he found out the day before the race that he wouldn't even get a chance. That's crazy. Whoever made that decision was stupid. The only one who left looking good was the promoter, who undoubtedly padded his attendance quite a bit.

And here we have it (Hank Thrill), Stewart stated his intentions, actions, and reasons, and people interpret it how they choose. That's why I say that Stewart owes these clowns nothing, the real fans of motocross don't need to resort to personal attacks or doubting Stewart's integrity and/or commitments. Real fans like good racing whether it is Stewart, Dungey, American, Euro, Aussie, Alien, or whatever else. Disagree? You, as well as others are welcome to, but in a respectful manner. However, the majority of the naysayers in this thread are not fans of the sport of motocross.

Regardless if he had a chance to go to MXON or not he's still not a true racer at heart for pulling off, he was running 10th and thought damn i don't wanna have to work this hard! James go away! and let real men race the sport of MX.

Anyone who seriously believes that Andrew Short is a better rider than James Stewart is on drugs - and I say that as a Short fan who doesn't particularly like James Stewart. But it's a simple fact that James has much more speed than Short has, he's won a hell of a lot more races and titles than Short has, and if he's likely to be ready to ride on September 26, he's the hands-down pick. That is, unless you're picking the rider you like rather than the rider who's most likely to win.

I think Short will do well, but he's going to have a heck of a lot of pressure, and performing under pressure isn't his strong suit. He'll be racing the other teams' second-best riders, so that helps with the pressure some, but he's likely to be surrounded by a lot of very fast guys and he's going to see his home crowd out there...Jeez, I don't see why people think Decoster did Short any favors picking him in that situation.

If the bike was too stiff why didn't they just soften it up? It's not like a high profile team doesn't have a whole box full of different shim stacks on the truck. They had plenty of time for a valving change.
Never mind changing valving, they should have drawers full of forks and shocks all with different setups. They take them apart back in the raceshop. It makes ya wonder how it could possibly be of THAT much, huh?

Sad as it may be, it's because there are people who dislike Stewart (on this board) and that is their compass in judging him as a rider.

Good to hear the wrist feels solid.
ME: Well, it's a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows.

jaekle: So who's in this Pentavirate?

Me: The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, Roger DeCoster, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with his wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"

The rest is History...

Now that's funny..
All I'll say about the rest of the thread is that I support Roger's decision..

afuckingmazing.....
Then why all the tears when you get clicked??? It's a room full of assholes anyway.

Anyway, why is James entitled to a spot on the US team? Selfish reasons, I suppose.
