Go on the OEM websites and see what they pay on the series you race. Pretty simple process, really
I couldn’t find it . Big races are listed but local series are showing 0 $ .
Was wondering if with the financial troubles they cut back ?
Also does gas gas still only pay 50 a win locally ?
KTM paid 150 in the past it was a big difference.
So far KTM/Husky/GG is a no go for local racing. Hopeful it changes. And when they did pay last year they all paid the same.
Check out what Kawi is offering. I haven’t looked this year yet, but last year they paid the best at our local series.

Dumb question; Is this only for professional racers?
No. I made 4 figures last year racing in Vet classes.
Now that’s cool. You must be pretty good to make that much. I had no idea.
In the 90,s it was Really good. Suzuki paid multiple classes for 1 bike. Red Bud night track 400 for 1st + 2or 250% payout. 1 rider could make more than winning a national moto. RM cup 100k . If u wore Goat goggles in 125c u got 250 bucks. Etc.
Kawasaki is paying $300 to win a local B class harescramble and $500 to win a B class GNCC, at this point no one is beating Kawi on contingency numbers. Not only that, its a mastercard, use it where ever mastercard is accepted unlike KTM where it has to be spent on KTM products
Yeah. I made about 2 grand last year and paid for all my parts and race entry fees with the card last year.
Some dealers let you spend it on anything they carry not just KTM.
So it still needs to be spent at a KTM dealer right? at inflated BS prices? That my point, KTM can eat a dick
They are the same now. Gas gas use to be $75 a win but paid $25 for back to 10th place. Where as ktm was $150 a win, but only paid to 3rd
nothing had been paid out since the beginning of the year. They just now paid everything though from the races we did since January
KTM Group is paying out our local indoor series for 2025 it is now listed in the events(.2025 Switchback Indoors SX) Same as last year $150-1st, $100-2nd, $75-3rd.
Nothing yet on local MX series but if they paid switchback hopefully its a good sign of more local stuff to come.
I did email Husky and they told me they are discussion the payout at this very moment . So we shall see.
Agreed. I’m about to switch to Kawasaki for this reason. They seem to pay the most and it’s “real money” not store credit. Everytime I go racing I lose $$ so might as well take advantage of what’s available.
I miss the days when you could get double Suzuki contingency from your dealer. Those were some pay days.
It looks like KTM/HQV/GasGas are starting to fill in the local racing series pay outs now. There is a disclaimer on the websites that states: "We are currently updating our Contingency Schedules and will be announcing our full schedule soon. All series listed with a $0 next to it have not been updated yet. Please be patient and check back regularly to see a list of updated Series & Events. We apologize for any inconvenience."
All things considered it's great to see they are back on board offering contingency again. I appreciate they support local racers, promoters and drive the business back to their dealer network.
I can't figure out if they are going to stop paying it for a lot of series or if they have cut some of the people who actually load the race events into the system.
Pit Row
Back in '03 a buddy of mine got wild one night and wrecked his dad's Silverado. He made him race all summer on his zuk and pay back his autobody bill with contingency. Took him several months but he did it. Learned a valuable life lesson in the process too.
I got paid last Sunday by Husky for the first 2 rounds of 2025 Dade City series which were at the end of January and beginning of February. I think they are filling in the local stuff starting with the most premier series’s like Dade City. I was concerned we wouldn’t get paid this year but Ktm group pulled through!
What I hate about contingency is you have to be on basically a new bike. So even if you can win or do good on an older one you get stuffed. Contingency doesn't pay enough to justify buying a new one that often for most of us.
Not necessarily, it comes down to the manufacturer payout, how much you go race and how well you do. If you’re a hardcore racer you could sell a two year old bike and still have a few thousand if not more to go grab the new one. Also it was always a great reason to tell the wife we had to upgrade. 😂
What were the glory years of Suzuki bucks ?
How much could you make for a win as an amateur ?
Were there any drawbacks ?
The glory years were from about early 90's til 2007/08 before market crash.
Local/Regional races paid A class $ 400 for 1st , B and Vet class $ 300 and C class $ 200.
In 2000 I got contingency at a few district races plus a couple ama AX races and got my 5 year old son a new JR50 and some gear and used all the suzuki buck's check's to pay for it.
Suzuki also had the RM cup challenge at different tracks around the country every year and the last several years they did that they had about 3 or 4 different regions with the RM cup changing it's name to Suzuki U.S. amateur national mx series each year and they paid huge contingency payouts..And you could use each registered machine to collect in 2 different classes, none of the other mfgs. did this. I'll see if I can find the rm cup payouts I know I have it around here someplace.
Back then before they started issuing debit card's the drawback was it took about 6-8 weeks too recieve the checks in the mail.
This is from 2000.
From 2002.
