Any word on his injuries? That crash on RDL looked absolutely awful and he was in a lot of pain. Felt bad for him and his family. It’s the part of the sport we all hate.

You can see his lower leg flopping around. How do medics/doctors get the boot off of a tib/fib fracture?

Was wondering the same. Damn, make my hair stand thinking about it.

They cut your boot off. Unless you can take it off before they destroy it.

No way in hell I was getting my foot out and the Drs did a good job of saving the boot without me saying anything about it. Was able to wear it again a year and a half later.  TiB/fib pilon fracture, hope that’s not what he has. GWS young man.

I had that injury in the mid 90s. They cut that shit right off.

Broke my tib fib into 25 pieces.  As soon as I got into the emergency room I made my wife help me get my boot, pants, sock's, shin pads and jersey off before the doctor could come in and cut it all off.

Hurt like hell but it worked.

Pants cut off, boot slowly removed here. Clean break of both tib/fib.

When I did my tib/fib just above the ankle with it out of the skin I had them take my boot off. I couldn’t fathom the $600 new boot cost of them trying to cut it off! The pain was already bad!

Ketamine in pain dosage is my go to for these kinds of things.

As horrendous as that all sounds I’m a little surprised his tib/fib/ankle weren’t broken also judging by how bad his leg was moving. Get well soon man, that was a bad one.

OxyContin, Dilaudid and a stool softener is, like RC says, the preferred line👍

Good luck in his recovery. Brutal crash and you could see the leg injury from the replay.

Jeez thats brutal. The femur is no joke, but at least bones heal relatively straightforward. Id have to imagine that dislocating your knee would stretch/tear all kinds of ligaments. Ouch!!

They gave me that combo once for a kidney stone that was stuck. They had already tried morphine and percs but i couldnt quit moving in pain so by the time the concoction hit, the walls were melting around me. Lol

Hope Preston heals up fast.

His dad Don was always a great guy - he could ride the hell out of a KX 500 back in the day too.

No flaming here, I agree 100%. When you can count on several top contenders being out of commission every year by mid season or earlier, it’s time to re-evaluate. Yes, motorcycle racing in all forms is dangerous. Yes, these guys are pushing about as far as humanly possible on a dirt bike…but this is getting ridiculous.

You can’t fix it without dumbing it down. The problem is the riders. It’s not impossible to be like Dungey. I think you have a generation where going “full send” has been glorified and this is the result.  Not saying that’s what happened here.

Depends on how long it's out. I've dislocated both of my knees at different points in my life, and haven't had any long term problems other than a dull pain when the weather changes.
