The concept of a City / Municipality Wanting a MC facility to re-open, well, that's quite the thing.
I really hope it comes to pass - I'll likely never get back there to ride (did so many years ago), but if it comes back, that would be a victory for our sport.
I have not found a definitive answer as to why they did not buy it. They certainly have money to burn. I do know that they got an enormous amount of push back from the local residents over traffic congestion concerns, and there were also concerns about increasing the emissions in the area.
Unfortunately, City of Lake Elsinore is an outlier - Local government actively promotes the race track, the skydiving facility, and the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix - they see dirt bikes and the money the riders spend in their city as an positive. This is from the city site:
"Action and Adventure - The City has long been a destination for action sports and extreme activities. The community embraces life and dares to push the boundaries to achieve its goals. Lake Elsinore's programs, facilities, and natural environment will define the City as a destination for action and adventure for both visitors and residents."
City said they would not approve the Amazon warehouse project as proposed, due to inadequate access roads to and from the property for large trucks.
The Inland Empire I-15 and I-215 corridor is literally lined with Amazon Warehouses for 100 miles, they can find easier and cheaper land just about anywhere else in the area.

They already got the entire 215 lined with Amazon warehouses from Menifee to Moreno Valley! lol.
I remember back in the day they said that land could never be built on because it was a dry lake bed. As soon as I saw houses start to get built around the track I got nervous. It’s a shame the land is too valuable in California. I drive by Carlsbad raceway every day and it’s a business park and Amazon warehouse! Very sad
North Pointe did but Coldwell Banker is the new owner. I hope it opens soon
What happened to JS63 (Milestones replacement) ? They promised us a 160 acre facility with RV hookups, a public swimming pool etc? Also Prado Raceway? What could have been….
I forgot all about JS63....anyone out there know?
Prado I figured never had a chance due to location.
My guess is the funding dried up and it's D.O.A., unfortunately. 🤷♂️

Ramona, CA and northern San Diego have prime land. These tracks just don’t want to pay
The person building the JS63 track definitely did not run out of money. I know there were some environmental hurdles, most likely with a blind, blunt nose transgender, smelt or something, knowing California.
My thoughts exactly. The people running milestone/perris/and state fair at the time to my knowledge were in some sketchy business.
They kept facing one hurdle after another at JS63 mainly environmental BS
I think prado mx would be super cool, but I’m being selfish as it would only be 4 miles from me. 😜
Cartel Business.........Money Laundering since it was a cash business

You guys with all your conspiracies are soo far off it's kinda funny and it's all the reason why we don't have a JS63MX. Every dollar from Milestone MX passed through my hands in the final few years and your comments about illegal business and the trash talk about the owner made him stop putting money into the project. Lame comments like this made us lose a person who was investing in a new track when they didn't have to. There was no environmental issues with JS63MX. I got the CUP after working with the County for 4 years. It was all ready to go but so many people hated on the owner for no reason he said goodbye to MX.
The rumors and gossip can be frustrating Aaron both you and Jimmy are good guys
His loss and ours. Kinda weak though to not continue because some internet warriors threw out some unfounded rumors. There is zero chance that compound as proposed wouldn't have turned a profit. So many questions...
The thing is lots of people read the internet shit and it affects advertising, investors and other people that aren't in the industry. It isn't simply the original developer this crap affects.
The internet can be like giving a monkey a gun. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
It was far beyond internet warriors. A lot of negativity and the chance for profit was far less than you can imagine. Milestone never turned a profit. It only paid bills.
Understandable, I was figuring in the added amenities to overall profitability as I would think there is a market for a socal mx park where it's more of a destination than a day player.
I still think a paid membership structure is one way to guarantee cash flow for any new motocross track.
Paid monthly membership works in other sports.

We had that and an Unlimited Ride Pass like a gym membership...
If it's a break even proposition why not raise prices $5.00 ? We're they afraid they'd lose that much business ? Most guys I know would have pissed and bitched and moaned about the 5 bucks but they would have kept going. It's not like there's another track around the corner.
We did raise the prices $5 and there was insane push back and trash talk, claims of collusion even racist comments. Yes, the riders still kept coming... The $5 increase was way behind the increase in costs, but it helped. Fast forward to today and there was another $5 increase but fuel prices have doubled, equipment prices have doubled, payroll has doubled... $5 doesn't cut the mustard. Milestone didn't close because of money it was an investment to open the new facility. Milestone had its issues with Realtors calling code enforcement when their offers got turned down and it had a lot to be desired with the layout and buildings on site. The location was super ideal though.
