Should the factories consult with Elon Musk before signing anyone for '26?

UpTite & Maverick seem to be betting on Anderson staying at Kawasaki for 2026...but I don't see his finishes so far this year to be a good ROI for Kawie. And with chattering about Sexton jumping from orange to green...I doubt Kawasaki would pair Jason & Chase together.

Just thinking out loud...

Kawasaki hired Jorge to be their number one, and they pay him accordingly. I don’t see them hiring another big dollar guy when they've committed to three years with Jorge.

I know they like Jason, and he has a good relationship with them. I also know they talked about re signing him, soooo.

Mike, How would you even know ? You are not a rider's agent or an industry insider like a few on here seem to believe you are!

I'm pretty sure the guy you quoted is not named Mike.

I don’t see KTM keeping AP7 unless he turns the season around. Anderson I can see him staying at Kawi on a 1 year deal. Will be interesting to see who ends up at Ducati.

It’s purely speculation based on the fact that he has an opt-out for next year, has been vocal about having a hard time adjusting to the KTM, and Kawi being the only other team with a realistic shot at signing him. No rumors of them talking, just speculation.

KTM cant let him go. Regardless of the $

They need someone to sell bikes, They need someone who can win, They need someone who is likable and relatable. If they loose him and just keep AP they will not only loose sales but it will look to us common folk that "KTM is done they cant pay Sexton"

The guys I ride with buy plenty of KTMs, they have no idea who Chase Sexton is. I would find it hard to believe if more than 10% of a SX crowd buys a new bike ever, let alone rides. I would also believe KTM sells a shit ton more dual sports and off road scoots than mx bikes.

Your homies must be off road boys

No shit, offroad boys or boyz(depending on your slang) spend shit ton wholesale dollars on dirt bikes, parts and don't give fuck all who places where at a supercross. Nor do they care who came in first through tenth at A1. They want to ride out 25-30 miles at least from the trail head and get back. Then the next day. And buy bikes that do that, and don't give shit one who beat Roczen's kickstarter antique, that not one of them would dream of riding let alone owning a bike for a 1/4 mile a lap 30 minute race track in Arlington, Texas's stadium, doesn'y matter. Could not give a single solitary shit. Very, very few real riders give a shit, it is simply the flat brim, fitted ball cap, tattooed, ear ringed, shit heads who will never ride or buy a new dirt bike that really  care about SX results. Waxing on about Tomac, Lawrence, Cooper, or Roczen sucks while none of them, in reality, can even tighten a chain or jump a tabletop.

I know the average 20-50 year old doesn’t care who rides what bike

But kids do and kids go through bikes a lot quicker then most

Start on a 50 most likely next year want a 65 maybe 2 years later onto an 85 then 125 and most of the time by then they have stayed with the same brand and have that loyalty

Not to mention if they are racing as well! Some run 2/3 bikes

This is the whole reason manufacturers sponsor riders.. to sell bikes.. because riders and results sell bikes..

I'd add Tomac 450 SX to Star. After this year, I think he gives it another shot

My apologies it wasn't meant to be. It amazes me, was my point, someone spends 50K a year on dirt bikes and couldn't pick Travis Pastrana or Jeremy McGrath out of a police lineup or even watches SX. I think the factories race more for brand awareness than dirt bike profits. You know Honda to sell Accords and lawn mowers, Yamaha generators......

Seems like a pretty good guess to me. TV16 probably won’t move up to 450s though unless something crazy happens and his defends his title.

Oh you’re not wrong at all; I live in a county comprised mainly of two factions - track only riders and desert weekend warriors. The latter of the two, to your point, spend a TON (thankfully) to enjoy moto, but don’t follow the sport. I’ll tell you tho, my friends and I all do both and the best Saturday nights are camping in the desert with SX playing on a tv outside of someone’s trailer, hahah

How long does Vialle have eligibility in the 250 class with his title from last year?

He is doing the trick of giving information he knows is un true so someone who wants to look like they are in the know will correct him and give an accurate name.

I knew a fellow farmer who did this all the time. If he wanted to know how much nitrogen you were putting on per acre he would throw up some wild amount that he was putting on his crop, knowing the other farmer would say ,"that's a lot, I'm only putting on x amount" He knew that if he just asked his fellow farmer how much nitrogen he was putting on, he wouldn't get the info he was seeking.

So he guesses "Mike", hoping someone will come along and say uptite is actually more of  Bob type.

If he wins a regional championship this year he has to move up in 26. If he doesn’t win a regional championship this year, he can race 250s next year and then no matter what has to ‘move up for 27.

Exactly, I and my wife NEVER miss a race. But my riding buddies, 250 hours a year riders, have no idea at all of the sport at the pro level. None

Am I mistaken or was Vialle and Plessinger's results from last year the result of a rainy race season last year? It's been dry so far this year, and they are not doing as well as last year it seems.

I agree.

What Brayton told Justin Hill about his best years being from 30-34 years of age is really sticking with me. It used to be 28 was old, then 30. Now it appears 34 is the new target age to start seeing significant decline.
