I thought the land owner was the one throwing in the towel due to lawsuit/risk?
City of Lake Elsinore wants the facility to re open, they have been working on this for months I hear.
Lets hope !🤞
Fingers crossed.

The fact is, we will likely never know all the details surrounding the closure of the track, or the reopening if it happens. I was there the day the girl got killed and am fairly familiar with what was going on there, and I still don't know what the truth is, and I no longer have much interest in all that drama.
This sounds very promising if it's coming from the city council! The Operators at Elsinore have always been a little sketchy going all the way back to Randy heiner I think his name was!
They are doing their Wacky Racers (kids) series using Perris for now. Hopefully this is a good indication that they may re open.
I will post anything I find out.
I didn't even know there was a track there until I moved up here just before they reopened.
I knew all the people involved with the track fairly well, and I can say that they got screwed pretty bad, because they had to close down the offroad track soon after they opened due to neighbor complaints, so they lost a lot of revenue from that, and the land owner would not lower their lease fees to offset that loss.
They all also worked hard to make it a success, but they made some management mistakes and kept fkng up what was supposed to be a Novice track with ski ramp take offs with kickers and other advanced features, which absolutely caused many slower riders to go to Perris or Fox.
Woohoo! This is great news. Elsinore's vet track was my favorite. ...and I loved that it was usually nowhere near as crowded as the Fox vet track.
Yeah, I started going to Fox on Friday and Monday, and it is busy. Went there recently on a Saturday and it was a freakin zoo. I love the track but hate the massive crowd, plus waaay too many expert riders on it. Kinda dangerous.
The vet track at Fox Raceway it was way too crowded this is another reason we need Elsinore back open and their vet track was fun and flowy and never really crowded the novice track on the other hand was sketchy for all skill levels LOL
Yeah, they should have just reversed the names of the tracks.
Kids track at Pala is busier then I’ve ever seen it the last few weeks, especially last weekend. The track operators were a bit stressed with the crowd. I even asked a dad to please put on his helmet while he was doubling his kid around on the mini track. Insane!
You guys need the state to put in laws like they have for skiing and equine facilities that reduce/prevent lawsuits.
I heard they can’t build homes there because they need to raise the level of the dirt and that dirt has to be brought in locally and there isn’t enough. So maybe all they can do with the land is what they’re actually doing with it, dirt bike stuff. The land owner can’t get rid of it for homes to develop and I heard there was going to be a Amazon facility being built on that land, but that fell thru as well.
Yes, way too many vet track heroes.
Cahuilla last Saturday was a bit of a zoo as well. We really need LACR and Elsinore to open back up to thin out the herd a little.
I never really liked Elsinore but I would go pay to get In and just sit and have a couple beers.
Pit Row
Nice to hear some good news about a track!
They can definitely get enough dirt. The problem is that raising the land would eat all the profits for a homebuilder, which is why only a big company with money to burn like Amazon can buy it, and they only need to raise the dirt level wherever they put a building, so Amazon would have acres of space for parking their hundreds of semis on the existing level.
I was just talking to a guy at Perris MX about this. I last heard city officials wanted it reopened, but it's been super quiet lately. Whether you like Elsinore or not, having it open benefits everyone in Socal. Next is LACR!
Absolutely a great thing if it reopens, regardless of if you like the track or not. We need more tracks, not less. All the race series in SoCal are hurting for variety in their respective 2025 schedules.
I went to the city today and they told me that nothing is in progress yet beyond what the Mayor posted, ost likely because the lesee has not had time to start the permit process etc but I put in a Public Records Request just to see if I get any reply.
Back in 2010 when they first opened, Pala actually had three big bike tracks to choose from- National, intermediate and Vet.
I wish management would return to that three track 2010 layout. The place gets so crowded at times…
For me the intermediate track was the best! To tuff for the average rider and to easy for the pro level guys. I’d love to see that come back. I assume the cost of maintaining the extra track is why they got ride of it.
I agree 100%, that was the best layout they had since they've been open and they can still combine the tracks to make the national track and or for the big amateur events it's a win-win for everybody! I remember back in the day one of the other times Elsinore closed that Donna and Freddy who used to run Paris were involved in City Council meetings trying to explain they needed it open to help with the Overflow they understood how to run a safe track without overcrowding nowadays everybody just wants to get the almighty dollar and don't understand the safety issues the overcrowding causes!
It was great! The intermediate track was my favorite as well.
I like riding the full national track, but the last few years, they cut it down so much in the off season that it's just not the same.
The problem is that they cut out ALL of the elevation changes in the back. If they want to shorten the track, they should keep the elevation changes, and exclude other areas of the track.
Mixing it up and sometimes splitting it into Main and Intermediate would be cool too.
How many different times have they closed and reopened in the last 20 years
My memory is a little shabby LOL I'm thinking three possibly four times! The land would be expensive to develop for anything else like others have mentioned and the City really wants the track so positive thoughts it'll reopen again!
What happened to Amazon buying it? I heard the whole area had to be raised because of it being a flood zone/lakebed, but I could definitely be wrong.
