Not sure what the causes of death were as they’re still under investigation.

Hopefully something like a gas leak, and not something more nefarious.

Remember seeing him race production cars, on the Saturday support races, at riverside raceway back in the day.

There’s something strange in Santa Fe……and I’m just not talking about all the weirdo California transplants.

I have logged many hours of enjoyment watching Hackman movies. I will actually be following the news for a bit until they find out what happened.

I understand that he was 95 but his 61 year old wife and dog too? Strange to say the least.

Amazing actor RIP

He was a fantastic actor. Saw him at Saddleback several times around 1980 supporting his son Chris at the races. He was a megastar back then and it was so cool seeing him helping his son in the pits, getting dirty working on his bike.
My initial thoughts are carbon monoxide. Regardless of what happened he was a great actor and I’m sure much more to his loved ones

What a shame. The man who made "Picking your feet in Poughkeepsie" famous. One of the original bad ass cops.

Wow...... that is crazy news.   I sure hope it was something like carbon monoxide poisoning and not a home invasion or suicide.

Great actor.    Just watched him, Morgan Freeman and the stunningly beautiful Monica Bellucci in "Under Suspicion".

Spare a thought for the Buffy Vampire chick Michelle Trachtenberg who was found dead this morning aged 39.

Sad all round. Gene had a long good life but damn for Michelle at 39, way young to clock out.

May they all rest in Peace.

One of the articles I read mentioned one of them being found next to a space heater. Seemed like an odd detail to include unless they were saying carbon monoxide without being able to just come out and say it yet.

Looks like that area had a low temp of 30 degrees last night--  certainly cold enough for a furnace or heater to run . I'm sure their house was fairly substantial in size , and I wouldn't imagine they'd be frugal enough not to run the home furnace and utilizing just a space heater .  Something feels a little off  about that being mentioned in the report , but I hope not.  On the other hand , he had a great run and made it to 95, but deserved to go out in a better fashion. But his wife and dog too?  Had to be a Carbon monoxide deal.  As far as his career , I do not remember a single movie of his that I didn't enjoy.

Quote from one of My favs from him, bonus points if you know the movie  :

Ground team, you're up that trail, you've got the grid coordinates. Air team you follow me down this creek. We'll that's it...it's game time. I had a speech prepared, but I guess I forgot it. There are some lines from Julius Caesar.. 'If a man were to know the end of this day's business ere it come; But it suffice that the day will end, and then the end is known. If we meet again, well then we'll smile, and if not then this parting was well made.'

Reports are that they were deceased for some time before being discovered.

Amen.  Hands down my favorite male actor.   Gene could do it all.

We just watched 'Get Shorty' again two days ago.   Really loved him in 'Uncommon Valor'

RIP Mr. Hackman,  gonna miss you.

Low key favorite movie of mine he was in is "Mississippi Burning." Such a powerful performance.
