“Elon Musk was NOT Elected!”

2/21/2025 5:47pm Edited Date/Time 2/21/2025 6:04pm

Didn't Musk get X/Twitter back to profitably with something like 30% of the pre-purchase workforce?

Maybe they are good at efficiency.

Yep, right wing propaganda apps are very efficient and cheap to run.

Everyone remembers when Musk was into climate change and going to space.  He quickly realized that's not where the money and power is, so he pulled the ultimate grift move, buying Twitter to get rid of all it's censorship, but then turned it into a far right wing app that he uses as his personal megaphone to shout out his opinions to the sheep.   There's alot more money and power catering to the far right, they're more gullible.

I just hope they get them all back safely.

I wish he would just stay down and be rich and mysterious. I first learned about him after that cave incident where he called the dude helping the kids a pedo. Then it has been this constant villain arc of bullshit I learn against my will.

So what makes the left wing propaganda apps more expensive? Do they use more coal? Are more liberal coders needed to keep fixing mistakes? Perhaps more censors employed to quiet down dissenting opinions and facts? Maybe much higher health care costs for all the covered "gender re-assignment" surgeries? Higher rent due to more square feet needed for safe spaces?

If we are going to remake the federal government I simply don't trust him or his tech buddies to do it. Looking at how he and they run their companies and carry themselves they don't create good things including families.

You can say "they make a lot of money" but that's more of a condemnation of capitalism than an endorsement of character.

No real way of knowing. X is private, doesn’t post audited financial results. Estimates of revenue are significantly down, but those are just estimates, nothing official.

Bro, really?  Your IQ is about as low as Trumps approval rating and falling just as fast.

The right wing apps like X and Truth Social are OWNED by the two guys currently heading the country.   Please name a left wing app that is owned by somebody running the government.  Its never happened.  You geniuses complained about George Soros and the Deep State LOL.... it's right out in the open now with Trump and Musk.    What Trump and musk are doing is exactly what Russia and China have done with their media.   And it's been floated that Musk could buy TikTok, so that's another huge platform owned by Trumps right hand man.

Does that make sense to you that it's problematic?  Or do you just defend anything and everything that these guys do?

So you admit you don't know why the left wing propaganda apps cost more to run?

By the way, before Twitter was bought by Musk, it had absolutely no problem censoring whatever the Biden administration asked them to and pushed information they requested.

If you spent any time on that site you'd know that they don't use Google adsense and there's zero ad targeting. It must be cheap though because you see the most random ads.

Meta ad targeting is ridiculously good though.

Definitely noticing a shift in attitudes on my Facebook feed.  I don't post politics on there, and myself try to stay pretty neutral, but have a bunch of Trump loving family members who constantly post memes and shit on FB.  Several of them have changed their opinions on what's going on.   One of my cousins actually had his job cut with the National Park Service.  This guy makes like $40K a year, and he's cut by some guy worth billions who wasn't even elected.  Needless to say he's changed his opinion on the current admin, as has his whole family.

I think you are going to see a major shift now in the MAGA crowd once they start being affected by this crazy approach to just tearing everything down.  The extreme MAGA people, and I have a few in my family, will always love what Trump/Musk is doing but that's easily explained, they are brainwashed by reading all their stupid social media posts for years and years.  There's no hope with those types of people, they can no longer think for themselves.

I think the big driver will be what happens with the economy and in Ukraine, the entire administration will especially look like shit if Russia takes over the country.

I use X a little bit here and there and cannot comment on censoring.   But I do agree that it's dangerous that people in government now own these huge media platforms.   Can you imagine if Biden bought Fox News a year or two before the election, switched it over to left wing propoganda and used it to beat Trump?  I think most on the right would go bat shit crazy if that happened. This is essentially what Musk did with X.... the whole reason I don't use it much anymore is it's just all crap now, downright nasty stuff on there IMHO.

Construction workers get “let go of” all the time.  My average runs were 2-3 years before getting benched for a couple months between projects. Though it means tighten the belt a little, I’ve learned to embrace it. I can spend time with my family I wouldn’t normally have.  I can wait it out and, return to the same company or, abide my time while looking for something better.

If your cousin held a job with Parks Services, it might look good on his resume if he were to look into a job with the Department of Fish and, Wildlife. One door closes, another opens.

But what evidence is there that government censorship and control is worse on X/Twitter now than it was during the Biden administration.

Didn't Musk get rid of fact checkers due to bias concerns, and replace them with community notes, which would be less censorship? Isn't that the direction Facebook is going now?

Out of around 2.3 million federal jobs, there have been around 30k layoffs (that's around 1.30% for vetracer, Last2Stroke and ChurchOfBrap-types).

Cutting federal spending is going to mean some layoffs. If you folks are complaining about less than 1.5% of layoffs, there is no reason to listen to your opinion about how to reduce the budget deficit because you will never be serious about actually doing that.

Good ole CPA Bob from Wichita  - it's a shame Good Ole Bob doesn't have access to some of the best programmers and consultants in the world like Elon does.   All Elon does is oversee his crew of coders & and learn from his consultants.  A lot of their digging is automated also.

How do you know Elon has the best programmers and consultants in the world?

There is no reason Bob, the C.P.A. from Wichita couldn't hire programmers or use existing federal programmers to extract the data.

Because I know who some of them are.    I code myself and also do some consultant work and digging in systems.   Most CPA's and folks in general cant even afford me and I'm $300 an hour with a 10 hour daily minimum for custom stuff and even blackhat & grayhat projects.  Do you even understand what the tasks are his guys are doing?   I assure you the guys he has are very elite coders.  Doing stuff in a hour what would take me days and maybe weeks on end and some coders months or even years.

Elons coders are training the Gov coders. You know why they need to be trained? Because they suck compared to standard of the guys Elon has and dont know shit compared to them.

But keep dreaming about Bob. Smile

Smile

Bob is the fictional person who doesn't have a conflict of interest like Elon does.

Elon's companies have government contracts and are regulated by government departments, he clearly has a conflict of interest in deciding where to cut expenditure.

Who gives a rats ass?

He';s got access to some of the best people in world to get the job done. He's paying for it out of his own pocket.  He's pulled some great guys from all his companies to get this done.

And really on the cuts... I say cut as much as possible.   I don't ask the federal government for anything and I don't expect them to ask me for anything (Taxes).
