Anyone else getting tired...

That only the 2nd motos are shown on TV? Since when does an action sport website dictate how we get to watch our motocross? I know that Speed and NBC have and agreement with Allisports but what a dumbass idea. What was MX Sports thinking? Come on Davey... get it together. Please, lets rally for a change. I know I am not the only one out there who would like to see both motos on TV and not have to cut my only day to go riding short because I have to huddle around the computer to watch the first motos like a horny teenager staring at youporn. It's just flat annoying.

Also, while we are talking about the nationals, whose great idea was it to swap the motos around and have the 250s race last on the day? Isn't the point of the 250 class to be the stepping stone in the premeir class? It's my belief that the higher paid 450 riders should be racing on the track when it's at it's roughist. I just don't get it. Anyone feeling my concerns?

Allisports doesn't dictate shit. NBC,speed and MXSports dictate what is shown , when and how much. Allisports 1st moto commercial free live coverage is a gift from mx sports to you the whiny , bitchy fan.

I'm so sick of people that have no idea what goes into producing these shows bitch and complain. Please STFU.

I like it this way.......jeez, we get to see the ENTIRE 1st motos live ..... LIVE...no commercials, then they are archived to watch later......and we can watch almost the entire 2nd motos on TV.

Pretty sweet set up.

in a perfect world i would get 3 hours of moto like it used to be back in the day if i remember clearly, but then again they weren't live nor same day, would be sick if we could get both entire motos live but the world isnt perfect so we have to appreciate what we are getting at the moment, which is pretty darn good if ya ask me..

All 4 Motos live on the net followed by a well produced show later the same day if it needs to fit into 2 x 1 hour shows on TV.

HDMI cable from a PC to my 46" LCD looks great. The last 5 or so races haven't buffered once. My only complaint is getting up at 2am to see it and then having to wait a few days to watch the final motos.

Add the post shows, the bottom line show, transworld vids, radio shows etc I cant really complain. I have no idea what's going on here in Australian motocross most of the time though which is a shame.

TV has cost core fans racing but netted the promoters bookoo cash. And there are no other positives.

"Good for the sport" who needs that anymore? Lets get back to racing. And if you can't appreciate sx & mx for how awesome it is without being packaged all nice and neat, then go watch something else.

I think there's a tide of cynicism among message board posters that's sort of like a black hole. Look! All the cool kids are being cynical. Let's join the club...

I think it's pretty darn good! Just a few years ago we had a one week delay from when the race occurred until it was shown. Now we can see at least 2/4 motos per race day live and sometimes 3 or all 4 (Washougal) motos live. If not live the last two are usually either same day or next day coverage. I really don't know how much more you can ask for...

I agree completely, and prefer Sunday races for the same reason. The tried & proven format of racing that the sport operated under was there for a good reason. You build the event to a climax.

Amateurs lead up to the pros.
250's lead up to the 450's.

This pattern builds suspense and anticipation. It was the result of wisdom.

I'm getting sort of tired of people not facing reality.

The TV package is what it is because that is what Speed/NBC is willing to air.
Without any TV package the big money sponsors aren't going to be forking over the money that helps to help grow the sport.
Without growth and support there is no more racing at that level.

In a perfect world every minute of both motos in both classes would be shown live.
Last time I checked this is not a perfect world.
So instead we have a live moto on the web for free and same day coverage and archived motos to watch a couple days later which is pretty damn good.

So yeah let's go back and relive the good old days.....I remember watching DeCoster at the Carlsbad races when I was a kid too.
Months after the races were over.

Ahh the good old days.

I really enjoyed it back in the day when we would have all 4 motos shown live, with no commercials, but I'll settle for this... I guess.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We HAVE A WINNER!!! I hate switching over to the broadcast on TV for the second moto. Do it ALL on the internet, then nobody has to worry if they get this channel or that channel. HDMI from my PC to my 55" Visio is great. As soon as it airs live, it should be easy to archive also. Youthstream gives you a low quality (but watchable) feed for free, or you can pay 1.99 for an HD feed. I'd pay that to watch a complete national from my couch.

Perfect post JND! Most of the guys on this board don't seem to comprehend the money involved to even get what he have! I'm thankful our sport even gets any air time to be honest.

And who gives a shit they don't show the first motos? We get to watch it live or archived on Allisports for FREE!

I would rather have it the way it is now any day compared to a next week show , with just highlights of both motos.......they always cut out the good stuff!

God damn whiners!

If by "back in the day" you mean last week, ok. Wasn't that the first time in history all 4 motos were shown live? Seriously Motoxxx, get yourself an HDMI cable, plug in the alli coverage and after 'dilla you'll be wishin Speed would quit airing any of it and just have all 4 on alli.

How has it produced a tide of cash? The promoters have had to pay to place the TV. The only tide has been better exposure to be sold to sponsor who fund teams, without which there is no racing.

There are too many overblown assumptions about how lucrative this sport is. It isn't, and it remains on a razor's edge financially.

i am happy with what we do get. better than the years past where you had to ethier wait a week to watch the race, or get info from the web the day after the race or even wait till next months moto mag to come in the mail to catch up on the racing. even in SX you cant watch the first races live on the web........
