35 laps leds for roczen and not a win to show it 😕

I hope he can confirm his good riding with a win asap.

Plessinger, Ferrandis were painful to watch. Ferrandis was like a mobile chicane, no fight in him, let pass  sexton like he was a lap behind. Plessinger give a little fight to roczen and the rode backward and get pass by sexton in 8minutes when sexton miss the start and fell first turn.

Those not look good.

Hopefully Pless pulls a Mookie, before Tampa we saw Mookie get starts and get passed pretty quickly but all he needed was to see what the front runners looked like and and one race later he turned that into a win. Plessinger winning in Arlington for the cowboys makes perfect sense

To add to you guys argument. Here were the total fastest times by sector of the 450 main Webb vs Sexton.

Sexton - 2 of 8

Webb - 4 of 8

To add to that, of 2 sectors where neither Sexton nor Webb were the fastest, Webb was faster then Sexton in both. Data is data and Webb had Sexton covered on speed tonight.

Haha don’t tell Aees. He said sexton was faster….. with zero data

Sexton's fastest lap was a half second faster than webb's and his second fastest lap was also faster than webb's fastest....

Webb won, rode a great race. chase screwed up again, and again. But chase still has more top end speed and it's OK to admit it. People aren't making that up out of nowhere.

It's Chase championship to lose i have said. Unfortunately, he might be doing just that.

But there is no way Webb beats Sexton straight up on this track. Chase wins with 10 sec easilly.

Straight up? Does that mean without fucking up? Not fucking up is part of racing. Fucking up slows you down. Chase needs to stop fucking up.

Right up front let me state that I’m a fan of all the top guys.  Love watching Eli rip the track up with aggression.  Kenny is such an intense and creative rider.  Chase is so humble and so talented.  Anderson will race anyone hard and lay down some sweet, loose laps that really impress.  A.P. and Mookie have their nights as well.  Of course Jett floored everyone with his execution and unreal adaptation.

Cooper Webb has proven that he can stay safe, make good decisions, outlast and out race when it matters.  This season he has avoided front wheel tucks, lapper mishaps, foot dabs, start gate tangles, etc.  He has effectively beaten Jett, Eli, Chase and Kenny by putting together the whole package.  Plenty of speed, savvy passing and very good race craft in terms of line choice and lappers.  I’m so impressed with this guy.

And Webb’s average lap time was .4x seconds faster then Sextons. So faster the entire race except 1 lap I guess lol.

If the races were 1 lap and we found that 1 lap Sexton was faster then he would be faster than Webb, but not the case.

This argument that a rider is faster based on sprint speed is ridiculous. Usain Bolt has great sprint speed but that doesn’t mean he’s faster in a 3000 meter race.

Truth, if that were the case JS7 would have the most wins and titles by far…

No, it doesn't mean that at all unless you're assuming that the only thing that matters in a championship is speed. Get that straw man out of here and remind me again what Stewart's nickname is?

What is absurd is arguing that Usain Bolt has less speed than a marathon runner because he can't maintain his speed for the length of the marathon. You're no longer talking about speed, you're talking about endurance. Do you know what they call the winner of the 100m at the Olympics?

What vehicle has more speed? Dragster that needs to be rebuilt after every run or semi that can go for 500,000 miles?

I am arguing that sexton is faster because he goes faster on a motorcycle than webb does. The mental gymnastics you guys are doing to try to make this not be true is just silly. Just stop.....

Speed is distance divided by time. If it takes Usain Bolt longer to get to the finish line in a 3000 meter race, then given the definition of “speed”, yes, he has less speed in that race than anyone who covered the same distance in less time, despite having a higher maximum speed. This is not controversial and it’s not mental gymnastics - it’s basic physics. It’s just plain wrong to say that talking about average speed is the same as talking about endurance. Endurance can explain why an athlete with more maximum speed doesn’t have the most average speed in a longer race, but it’s only one possible explanation (e.g. you could have higher maximum speed but less acceleration, or you could have more maximum speed and acceleration but more instances of low or no speed). Maximum speed can’t be the thing we care most about in a race because in a race, distance always matters because the point is to cover the specified distance in the least amount of time, or to cover the most distance in the specified amount of time - depending on the design of the race. Whoever does that has the most speed in that race in the way that matters, regardless of whether or not they have the highest maximum speed or most speed in any given segment. You’re taking “speed” as meaning the same thing as “maximum speed” but those are distinct concepts.

Mental gymnastics.

By your logic there would never be any discussion of speed and it would be defined only by the finishing order. Wouldn't explain Stewart's nickname very well..... guess we should alert everyone that it needs to be changed to FMSMOP....

We can still sensibly talk about things like sprint speed. We just need to be clear about what we’re talking about and why. Context matters. What we can’t sensibly say is that a guy wins races but lacks speed.
