Where was Kitchen’s sprint speed the first 14:53 of the race? There wasn’t any. He got whooped and handed a gift. Completely inexcusable.

Rules are rules. “7 seconds left” isn’t the end of the race. There still would have been two whole laps of racing left

Hoping I'm wrong on this but every time I've ever read the rules on restarts and every time I can think of seeing it on the broadcast: they have said that more than 90% of the race complete equals race over. Never seen anything about time in the clock being a factor. Our math at the watch party I'm at was over 13.5 minutes completed was the 90% mark (give or take how you factor the last lap). At 7 seconds on the clock: that should have been the end of the race.
*If the rule has changed and I was unaware then I guess you got to take it at face value but this is the first time I've ever heard of time on the clock being the decider. Very disappointing if that was an "on the fly" change. Gutted for Anstie either way but Kitchen's sprint speed was respectable.
The leader had more of a gap, than there was time left in the race. They should have called it with the current positions.

He said Bobby called him earlier and said that Max mentioned he didn't expect to win.
Max said if Bobby doesn't want to show up to races to not bother calling him anymore.
Edit: I rewatched the interview and Max said:
"Bobby the team boss called me earlier and said that I somehow said that I didn't expect to win. I don't know where he got that from. If he's not going to show up to the races don't bother calling me anymore because, at the end of the day, I expect to do what I'm doing. All I'm saying is that I expect these guys, I've got a great competition with RJ and Levi and all these guys out here that are solid, and that I'm putting in a good fight for this, so let's take it to Daytona and keep pushing."
Sucks for Max, but I thought the red flag should have come a lap earlier.
That was a serious lapse of judgment by the AMA. Seven seconds, give me a break. Someone made a crap decision. Max smoked them.
