ET silently smashed everyone this weekend.

Anyone think he stays to pass Mcgraths record?

I'd be stoked if he tried, but no.

Maybe if he has a good year and comes back for one more next year he could be into the 60s?  That's rare air.

I think he can easily get to 60 this year, especially with Jett being out. If he stays healthy and returns SX only for 26 / 27 he gets the record. Pipe dream, but it could happen!

It's hard to Imagine Tomac chasing a record if he's not a championship contender. Right now he appears to be in the handful of 450 class racers who have what it takes to nail down another #1 plate

Assuming we're recreating a 2023 sort of vibe - I think he had 7 wins in 15 rounds against chase and coop and they had 4 and 2 a piece. Doable and exciting

In our era it's not a question of can you be elite past 30 in sports anymore, it's how willing are you to do it. I doubt theres a lot of motogp guys here but Valentino Rossi still had elite race winning speed until around age 36 / 37

Love me some ET, but no way does he stick around long enough to break MC’s record. Wife, children, lots of racing afterlife to enjoy !

We are 4 rounds in and he has 1 win. He needs 10 wins THIS year to even have a shot at MC. Not saying he can't do it, he certainly can. Let's talk when he gets to 60...if he gets there at the middle of this year then maybe.

It does give some more hope with Jett being out, Eli seems to have Chase's number.

He was on rails and the broadcast didn't show him at all....once again the production crew is full of idiots..

Tomac is 100% the front runner. It's his SX to win or lose now. Sexton has never really beaten Eli at a championship and I don't see it happening this year that's for sure.

I never comment here, and I will get flamed for this. But I think if Tomac wins SX and then MX he is the best of all time, both disciplines combined. Guy is wild to watch.

Edit: Adding longevity to this too.

The dichotomy between this thread and the Dungey thread is amazing.

Thought the same thing. Dude literally passed Plessinger, Webb, and Mookie in ONE corner and not a word or replay. Bondo sure is a fan of the sport though, right?

Don't forget him and Jett going back and forth multiple times in San Diego and the only way we found that out is from an iPhone video from section 102 lol

Yea and you deserved to get flamed for that. Tomac is nowhere close to RC and never will be. Carmichael accomplished far more by the time he was 27 than Tomac has now at 32

You wanna talk about longevity? RC won 10 outdoor titles in a row

Great video....      they need to lay off the Monster girls though, it's just stupid.     Here, I'll  pre-emptively down vote that last statement for you. tdown

Tomac is a living legend....   Let's be serious, there is no chance he's going to break 72 wins.    I love his confidence this year though.   It's so much more fun watching him since he switched to Yamaha.

He also didn’t have near the competition that Eli has. Check the lap times on any race in the recent years. Everyone is so close it’s ridiculous. RC never had that kind of competition. One or two guys yes, but not the entire top 10 able to win

As a HUGE Tomac fan.....

I totally agree lol

Like the other guy said, there are a lot of nuances, but RC was just straight up dominant for so many years.

I was there. It was one of the most incredible battles I've ever seen.  Eli and Jett were absolutely flying, and there were no mistakes.

Well yeah. But.. I get the idea that this is genuinely what he and his family like. Definitely his parents. In the NBC feature his wife also said something along the lines of not knowing how to move on and that they love it.

So maybe!?
