KTM SXF 250 2026?

Blackbirdracing have unveiled on instagram the 2025 KTM MXGP Team photoshoot.

It seems that the 250 have a new frame with no hole on the part of the shock and different motor mounts.

You can check the factory edition 2025 and the new MX2 bikes for comparaison, is it going to be the 2026 bikes?IMG 20250129 214211.jpg?VersionId=6T4BLPOCXvv.F4IeOWrmpSNR2FGv17Screenshot 2025-01-29-21-37-51-61 1c337646f29875672b5a61192b9010f9

That’s the old frame. If you notice vialle is also still using the old frame. And those are engine mounts that are made for the race team based on what they want for flex. Not the 26 frame at all. Look for a new engine for 26 or maybe not depending on what ktm does bc of there $$ situation

That's ironic, last time I checked vital, that old frame was unrideable.

At least there is no chance of any top rider running those crappy ktm air forks.....

Enough passive aggressive,  going to the garage to re torque my engine hangers.

25.5 Factory Editions are unchanged. Maybe an orange frame for 26 standard bikes?

Frame looks just like the 23/24.   Also the 250 4T engines were redesigned in 2023 and I believe the 250F is the strongest engine in the 250 class.  I doubt they would update again this soon, especially with the current financial situation.

Why would ktm need an updated 250f this season even if they didn’t have a financial mess? The bike really doesn’t need anything. Unless you’re a staunch “I hate airforks” guy and honestly from what I’ve seen of those guys they hardly hit 3rd gear on a track anyway.

KTM said during the launch of the 2025.5 FE models that next year's FE would be an updated platform. That should mean 2026 will be orange frames. Before anyone goes on about they can't afford to do that, they spent that money 1-2 years ago. It might be more expensive to not make the next change depending on how tooling was paid out to suppliers. For all we know the next update will reduce manufacturing costs and maintain or increase performance.

Sure they spent the R&D costs already but with production shut down, employees not paid, as well as a bunch of their suppliers now broke and shut down, how is a ‘26 model from KTM even a possibility? Serious question.

2026 would be the current platform with orange frames. 2027 is still over a year out, but they would be building FE in ~9 months. Tooling is probably mostly done or in the process. They are going to be building bikes as they sell through existing inventory unless you are someone who thinks ktm will disappear completely.

I think they will probably make it through, just from a practical sense I don’t see how they flip a switch March 1 best case scenario and actually have ‘26 bikes rolling out of the factory. It is bigger then just getting the factory rolling again with their suppliers in dire straights as well. But to be fair I haven’t read too deep into the whole deal, hence the question.

I would think 2026 will be a limited production run even compared to 2025, but I guess we will see.

New models are planned years before its on showrooms floor; Despite KTM group difficulties, they still do racing (in mx2 class, they'll have 4 riders this year, two riders in MXGP). KTM won the 2025 Paris Dakar rally, they're still alive, don't be negative!

I go through a fair amount of t of KTM parts, no issues for me to get them either at the dealer or online…

There are absolutely parts shortages with KTM, I regularly work with quite a few of their dealers and they are all complaining about it.
