Do you know what annoying him: Cole Davies, 17 year old rookie showing speed with less recklessness and more controlled techniques. It's feels uncomfortable when, you are the big next thing by the US media but when it all comes together a new kid is so damn close on your heels.

Not only that but they kept talking about how he was the fastest rider on the team during the week.

The kid has been sooo hyped up and he's feeling the pressure. The weight is on his shoulders and he put it there, so 🤷‍♂️

I still think he has some work to do indoors before anyone can even put him in the same sentence as Jett. I think this hunch will be confirmed once him and JuJu get to battle straight up. I don't think he comes out on top and JuJu is the story of the season. Outdoors, Deegan has crazy speed, no doubt. Indoors he needs to put his head down and build.

Why is it such a big deal, even if he did cry? Does that make him unmanly?

As men we have a hard time verbalizing and dealing with emotions and it has to come out some other way. Completely natural and no big deal. I wouldn't think any less of him if there were actual tears.

I cry every time I watch Beaches and Bette sings "Wind beneath my wings"....   😂

...but seriously, good point.   Some of the hardest/manliest men I know have been known to shed a tear once in a while.   ...and it's always something that is worthy of tears.

Haters is a bit harsh for people who are just tired of the circus. Every rider has haters, but the deegan fan club is the worst. He could hit someone in a wheelchair on the sidewalk drunk driving and you would be one of the first in here saying the person in the wheelchair shouldn't of been there. Just like you crying when he doesn't get brought up in the other threads and you're questioning why and calling the author a hater. Its almost like you're trolling but your serious.

It’s not necessarily that, crying definitely shows passion and is usually a good thing from an athlete, it’s just to see him in this mental state when only two weeks ago he was confidently stating this coast wasn’t even gonna be a challenge. Him holding back tears after a podium at round 2 is a major change up from Anaheim 1 press day

That's exactly why he would be emotional. He thought and expected it to go one way and it has gone anything but that way. From what we have seen of his drive and work ethic I would expect him to redouble his efforts and this fuel him.

You must have never been to the track. Several kids his age losing tiny local races are crying and throwing fits after they dont win.

it's ok to cry, but Soggy has a point in that he probably lacks coping skills when faced with adversity.

Exactly. And as you’ve told us, Deegan is just kid, a boy. He’s not a man yet, so it’s absolutely ok if he cries. You tell ‘em Goof.

A simple spelling mistake, and that is what you choose to run your mouth about in this whole thread. You're so educated....

That's kind of my point, most of us men don't have coping skills nor a healthy relationship with our emotions.

I would argue both are required for true success in life.

Love him or hate him, I don’t see how you hold his press conference demeanor against him. Plenty of competitive athletes are absolutely pissed with anything other than first place. This is a total non factor in my opinion. Whether it be HD, Jett, Sexton, Tomac I wouldn’t hold it against them

I see someone scowling under the bill of a baseball cap, not someone on the verge of tears.

If it were Eli or Jett it would be because they are fierce and hate losing. If it’s Deegan, it’s because he’s a crybaby and a sook. It shows a blatant bias and dislike towards Haiden.

It’s fine though because I think these things  are motivation, and the truth is he’s going to face a lot of competitors in his career. That is why they race all of the races, and don’t hand titles out before the season begins.

At the end of the day, the last man standing with the most points rode the best series, be it Deegs, Ju Ju, or anyone else.
