So whats the official word on who's pit board Jo hit? Will there be a fine for the team..maybe just a lecture?
I've seen various claims of it being Deegans mechanic and Schock's .mechanic.
But I haven't seen anything official from any journalist or the ama, ect...
In most sports this type of info would available nearly immediately.
Not sure why they try to play it off as some big fricken secret. LOL
Because everyone loves a scandal.
Pit board gate 2025 !
Shock
It had to be Friese's even though he wasn't on the track, right?

That's official from the AMA? Did the AMA talk to his mechanic...any ramifications?
Vinny the Vampire always out for blood!
Duffe posted that it was not his board and that it was Shocks. What more do you need? You really think anyone is going to lie about it? (It’s vital so yes). It’s both their faults in my opinion. Board was out, Joe was close, avoidable by both involved.
It looked like a Yamaha pit board to me.
I heard that Brent said it wasn't him. Then I read a lot of different rumors on social media. But nothing official from the AMA. Even if it was just an obvious accident, it took out a title contender. Heard absolutely nothing from AMA/Feld on who it was or what was their take on it. It's a big deal IMO...perhaps an AMA press release with facts would be in order.
Joe was off the track?
Could be the event that forces radios to be available.
I totally disagree. That is zero percent Jo’s fault and 100% the mechanics’s fault. That is part of the track. The rider has every right to be there. Regardless of whether is was totally unintentional or not….a mechanic fucked up the championship run of another team’s rider. With all of the work, money, and effort that go into trying to win a championship…..this was really unfortunate. Jo has never been in as good of a position for a championship run.
it’s not like he took an intentional swipe at him with it, it was incidental contact in an area that Jo knew there were boards hanging out, you know in the pit area where every riders mechanic has a pit board since racing began… why is the immediate reaction or over reaction in this case to always call for some magical savior with moral outrage and for the ama in this case, to “do something about it.” Nothing needs to “be done about it” and let’s face it the AMA doesn’t do anything about anything! Jo is a professional at the highest level of our sport and ultimately he was the one that put himself in this situation, I don’t hear him whining about it so why should anyone else?!
is there anything in the rulebook about pit boards and any action that is taken place if something were to happen?
I'm not saying they need to change anything or penalize anyone. But how did he put himself in the situation? If he was on the track how's it any of his fault? Does the AMA tell the riders, look the put boards do hang out onto the track so be careful. I'm genuinely asking. Is there an unwritten rule about the pit board area?
Here's the rule book if you want to dig through it. Not sure what it says about mechanic interference if anything.

I'd assume that the riders obviously have the right of way on the track in regards to bystanders such as mechanics & team personnel. Hanging a pit board out in a race line/lane is interference anyway you look at it.
....but but but....Vital will have it's vengeance.
Pit Row
We swinging for the fences ....and going for radios.
If you watch the broadcast, you can see the barriers being pushed farther into the track. Rather than straight , they had a bow into the track. Having flagged many west coast SX races as a barrier puller, the mechanics constantly leaned into barriers and ended up pushing them onto the track. The mechanics did not want to be told to move back and pull barriers away but that is what you are expected to do.
Just be happy it was Jo and not Rusty Holland
Seems to me that if a rider is on the track it isn't his fault by definition
Fuck..... that makes my balls hurt just looking at it.
Sticking it out and racing last night, Shimoda is tough.
How do you think that going to be this week, post race? From the initial hit and the beating he put on in racing. It's probably swollen as fuck today
But kitchen couldn't race...
It’s a one off incident, no need to change the entire sport, maybe just don’t put the mechanics on the outside of a fast berm
Going to something like radio's would be an improvement if done properly.
Things change, the tracks are easier, start grate's, and holeshot devices pulled down so low the bikes look like a yoga chick doing the downward dog.
HE WAS IN THE RACING LINE. Maybe the reason nobody is saying anything official is because it's just as much Feld's fault as anybody.
Who’s fault is it if a rider snags a tough block? Go ahead, berate me and say it’s different…I’m just stirring the pot
