Talk about politics! No one else is allowed to sell merch but yet feld allows their golden boys Lawrence’s brothers and Deegan.

So not cool that privateers can’t sell merch to help them get to next race etc.

smh. I’m sure feld gets a cut out of this but still wrong they say no to others but yes to some. IMG 1847

Anybody can sell merch, it’s not just limited to those guys. It’s just that the privateers wouldn’t move enough product to justify the cost for themselves.

Feld gets a cut of anything you sell inside the fence in pit area.
You sell it across the street you pocket 100%

That’s why 90% guys don’t do merch

This is not true, at least in 2021 and before when I worked for a smaller Supercross/motocross team we were not allowed to sell merch in the pit area under any circumstances. We made merch for the riders and sold it on social media and in our sponsors locations. We even got told to take down a small sign that had a QR Code so that you could buy our riders and team merchandise and have it shipped to you.

I helped out with a Supercross team (2012) that had a small energy drink sponsorship.  They had a truck with ice chest and some girls standing by the truck.  We had a Monster dude come over and he lost his shit.  The guy had tears rolling down his face and his face was beat RED.  He told the owner if you don't take the truck out of the pits and 10 others things he could not do, he would be kicked out.  It was crazy.

How silly would it look on TV if only 10 guys lined up for heat 1 and 2.. The privateers need to strike for a better payout and ability to generate

some income in the pits.

It was discussed a couple years ago so maybe it has changed since 2021. You basically set up as a vendor and pay a fee with profit share to Feld. I don’t know what the fee is but I remember a few privateers talking about it at the time and that with the fee + profit sharing, it wouldn’t really make sense for them. Not that I agree with their rules but...

ML has even posted on here that he has done it at a few rounds in the past.

Well then I stand corrected, I work in SXS’s now so don’t know all the in’s and outs anymore.

Yeah, it wouldn’t look that silly. Be less lapper issues and a shorter show.

Feld pays the riders sooo much that they don’t need additional income to travel the country and put on the show. Said no one ever.

I think Felds vendor fee probably makes it too expensive. Maybe the venue has a fee too.

Pro flat track racers sell shirts and hats.  Real cool grass roots type of racing.

Same at local short track racing as well. Their designs/graphics are usually super detailed and well done, where I feel like MX rider merch is just a generic logo with someone’s initials printed on a shitty Gildan T Shirt. Sorry bro, but I’ll keep my $35.
