Our industry talks a big game for one that is constantly trying its hardest to fuck itself over, seemingly. I mean we have a brand owner getting advertised heavily that just shut a track down for Christ sake 😂
Ms D riding to Sturgis. Sexy....but stupid.
I wonder how many of you with your cheeky responses think this is just a CA problem.
There are basically TWO insurance carriers left in the country that will cover motocross.
Lol...wow. Bunch of bad ass MXr's who probably grew up on bending the rules get all butt hurt because some guy at a track didn't wear full moto gear. That's funny right there. Lighten up Karen.

DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I know they're the best in the world but I cringe every time I see guys do wheelies and hit jumps in opening ceremonies without helmets on. It's just stupid.
And you obviously never grew up at all.
I agree that is pretty embarrassing for Vital and MXA and any others that allow EKS and Taylor to advertise. what are they going to do when there is no need for MX social media or MX mags when the whole industry is getting destroyed. This is not an attack on ML512 as he has stated he was really disappointed when he found out it was Taylor and doubt he has much say in who can advertise. Ponca City is now closed permanently as well as tracks in most states, It sucks. 😒
Thank you for being the guy who will be more downvoted than me in this thread.....
😂
Kw14 does it regularly and post about it.
Imagine, just for a second, that an adjuster from their insurance company was there and saw that happening. You think they will just say, "yeah, no problem, he looks like he knows how to ride so I won't say anything."?
For fucks sake man, we have like 5 public tracks left in SoCal and this shit won't help them stay open. This is on the owners/operators of these tracks to tighten their game up. The fuckery that goes on in the pits is out of control. LACR was terrible in this area for sure.
I come over jumps at JWTF and see drunk mini Dads crossing the track on Surrons. This same mini Dad waves his kid to not let me pass.
I'm an adult, and a decent rider, and one of the biggest hits I've ever taken was warming up my kid's 85 in the grass and hitting a small rut a tractor left. I went down so hard and so quicky it was crazy. No helmet. Knocked me out and just as easy coulda killed me. Fvcking stupid and I know better. My kid won't ride ANYTHING without a helmet, but he's been trained right and is smarter than I am anyway.
Like someone said - we are our own worst enemies in the sport.
I'm baffled that you are just now realizing how stupid people can really be ?
Does Kevin do it at public tracks or on his property?
And I hope those two insurance companies don't browse on vital and see this Glen Helen's Insurance could go up!
I’m not sure. I just dont agree with it. It’s his right to do it, I just think it’s incredibly stupid.
It only takes one person to wreck it for the rest.
Motocrossers aren't exactly known for their massive brains or thinking of others. If its Sorby it would be like the 800th time he is proven to have shit for brains
I watched an ex World Championship road racer here in the UK crash a Supermoto bike in shorts on tarmac, after hitting a rope across the track.
He wasnt going slow, i was the first one on the scene, and he was as bad as all the assholes that crash sport bikes on the freeway in jeans.
He was back at the track next day, it wasnt pretty.
Pit Row
Time for the first use of this for the year, from George Carlin.
'Look at how stupid the average American is, the realise that half of them are stupider than that'.
It's his track where he trains riders. That's why I was saying big difference between public and private. It's dumb, but if Kdub breaks an ankle in his own track or gets KO'd It's his own problem, if someone gets hurt not wearing gear at Glen Helen that's on the public track for not mandating proper gear to be worn while using their facilities. (According to their insurance company)
Nope not just u. I have a hard time as a track owner riding in your beloved state and turning my give a fu&^ meter off and just riding
I remember washing the bikes one day on the driveway, firing up my 85 to pull into the garage with no helmet, and my dad quietly walked up to me and slapped me in the face. All he said was “imagine if that was concrete”.
Message received sir.
Yoho has chilled out in his old age but still wont tolerate that
My fellow Davis. I am agreeing with you.
Certainly not learning good habits. Like going to a tactical class and having the instructor sweep you with the muzzle.
My bad if I came off as condescending, I was half agreeing with you half clarifying for others.
From the standpoint of his own personal safety, he should be able to do as he pleases. However, I think we all owe it to the next generation of riders to lead by example and wear the proper gear. It's the same as holding a door open for someone or making ethical decisions. That stuff propagates! Do the right thing and wear a helmet, just in case some impressionable kid happens to think you are the shining example of "Motocross Rider."
There are exceptions to almost any rule
. But she definitely should've been wearing a helmet.
As an older guy now it drives me crazy! Especially seeing bigger kids on pit bikes or e-bikes on the kids tracks wearing a mtb helmet not strapped. I want to yell at the kids and scream at their parents.
In my profession we have a saying “it takes 1 wrong to undo 1000 rights.” Inability to follow the rules is going to ruin MX. We better get used to trail riding because that’s all that’s going to be left shortly. Then a Ranger or Officer can give you a $500 ticket for riding without your helmet and impound your bike.
Wouldn't it make a more impactful example for the kids if the helmetless rider crashes and gets hurt?
When did it become other peoples' responsibility to raise random kids?
