Not that it matters but I always loved the smell of a 2 stroke...

Suggested topics for your 2nd and 3rd post:

2. AMA vs. GPs' - which is better?

3. Who should be Team USA for the 2010 MXDN.

These topics are in need of in-depth discussion and have not been raised yet. Silly

4. When is James Stewart going to race the nationals, and will he win?

5. Anything with the word "Alessi" in the title.

6. Why are there bears everywhere?

Not a fan of the time bomb 250F's. Been there, done that. Have two of them, both scattered. Can't give them away, so I'll just keep them as a reminder as to why not to buy another. Also not a fan of the 450. Not interested in the big bike power and definitely not going to support mfgs. when they keep making them heavier. To me, motocross has always been about lightweight bikes. I bought a YZ250F back in 2000 and put all kinds of lightweight parts on it. Had it lingering right around 200 lbs, wet with no fuel. Since I always like the 125's, this was like the perfect bike for me. Over time though it got boring. I just like the feel of a high revving , lightweight, 125-144cc 2 stroke. With the demise of the 125 class here in the U.S. I think that is playing a big part in the shitty state of moto today.

Other than that, the powers that be need to set a realistic number on the displacement rules and welcome other mfgs. to the starting gates.

Neither is better than the other. There are pros and cons to each. If it has two wheels, I like it no matter what drives the rear wheel (2T, 4T, legs, electric motor, whatever).

Two thoughts:

Husqvarna, Yamaha and KTM all make decent two stroke bikes. The Husky will attract the most attention in the pits. Do it!

I really enjoyed Jeff Clark's + ? (Legends and Heroes of Motocross) vintage MX display at Red Bud. Plus I've kept a quarter eye on this past weekend's Mid Ohio vintage event. Could be a cool hobby for you.

From Vital MX posting rules, give them a once over.

If you’re new, take a while to figure out the vibe of the board. Some of us have been posting together for ten years or more. It takes a while to figure out all the private jokes, pitfalls, and characters. Even if you’ve been lurking a while, don’t assume that because you think you know a poster’s personality or history, you’re free to heckle them on something. Make your own history…and make it a good one.
