Good point. I would recommend a NEW photographer to learn the exposure triangle either way. and yes, I am allowing the camera to set ISO based on the metering mode I've selected.

There is truth in what he is saying, there are variables to consider... metering settings being one. As for WB this is one reason I shoot in RAW... I would recommend to any individual getting into photography that they learn the exposure triangle. A person should be able to look at the image they just took and be able to...

As for settings, I always shoot in manual... widest available aperture, fast shutter speed [depending on the desired look] , and ISO on auto. I also shoot in RAW.

A few recent images I took at the local MX track. I used a Canon 7D II with either the 70-200mm f/2.8 or 300mm f/4... As mentioned above getting a used 1D is good advice and good glass of course.

Lot of good times racing in the zone... I still have the cd around here somewhere. I remember some of you. I was on tuff, PRO and XFR.

Ha! I added the ATV & UTV picture to let others know they ran those too, but yes, the quad guys were fast and jumping everything the bikes were [at least that I saw]. Those A class riders can move on those ATV's... I do back off the track a bit more when photographing them though.

Here are a few I got on Saturday.. I was only able to make it one day, so I only was able to take pictures of the bikes during practice. Wish I could have made it out Sunday morning for the moto's :/

I was there taking pictures on Saturday, it was my first time at Briarcliff.. Nice track for sure. I'll dig up a few images and post them.
