Either way, he sucks too. 😄

From watching the interview, it sounds like DB signed with that agency so that he could maybe some day get into announcing stick n ball sports, as he stated was something he was interested in.  It's too bad he let that NBC guy get the best of him.  Wish he would have stuck it out and continued with his broadcasting, and maybe he could have used it as a spring board to doing other sports and moving on from moto.  That Jenny Taft did exactly that and was reporting trackside at one point, and now she's doing college and maybe even NFL football.  DB could have definitely done the same... he has the look, the voice, and the intelligence.

Will be interesting to see where he goes from here.... sounds like he's started his own business and will be doing some work with Pulp MX.

Meh... I gave that guy the benefit of the doubt for a long time, then the bike came, he did the media tour, and then totally disappeared. If you're just doing it for the love of the sport you don't just vanish like that. Not difficult to figure out what it all was. Good for him for getting paid, but fool me once.....

He was practically ran off this site because people were saying he was a shill and would generally just throw hate his way every time he posted about the Stark even though he was a pretty regular poster before ever getting the thing. Hell, he created his account 15 years ago. He also had an Alta before the Stark that he posted a lot about.

It was several social media platforms he disappeared from after he did podcasts and interviews and all the usual PR stuff. Yes he had an Alta and sure maybe his interest in the Stark was genuine, so it made sense for Stark to throw some money or the bike his way to promote it, but I'm not buying that this was all organic the way it just stopped and stayed away for good. This industry loves NDA's for petty shit so not surprising he can't admit he got paid.

That was eye opening. Daniel was pretty emotional at times. I'm happy for him and hope his next project turns out as he hopes. I've always liked him and wish him the best.

What're you even talking about? He’s posted on here and on Instagram within the past month. Posted a problem with the Stark on his YouTube recently as well. He was definitely given some special treatment because he was their first order but I don’t know why you think he isn’t being genuine about buying and enjoying the bike, especially when everyone else that does seems to like it as well.

DB is the man! Not many blokes like him, down to earth, isn't afraid to show emotions, bloody good podcast it was.

I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with DB and the BatBros for his last race he broadcast in SLC and he took me in the truck and introduced me to Bondo and there was zero tension there, Seemed to get along with Bondo very well.

In truck's defense, after the few of his Stark threads when it was new, he has been MIA for quite some time until popping back in recently to comment on the announcement thread of the new enduro Stark coming out (speaking purely of Vital, not social media, I do not follow him).  I agree, he likes the bikes and likes to talk about them, that is all I have to say about that 😄

I started the RC discussion. And all I said was I wouldn’t be surprised if we learn he was a pain in the ass to work with. Then a bunch of people with bad reading comprehension spun that into RC forced him out.

Thats the first full through interview of Gypseys i have ever  listened to.

Great interview. Daniel really tells it all.

So basically, Norm Macdonald had Don Olmeyer, Lettermen had Les Moonves and Daniel has(had) his own douchebag overlord at NBC.

Same for me, first full Gypsy pod I've seen in it's entirety. I have to say, Jase only went off on one minor tangent and it was totally relatable to what DB was talking about.
Have to say it's one of the best long form moto interviews I've ever listened to.

The AC interview was cool and those amateur reviews of pros will be cool to listen to.

A $5 a month subscription does not make anyone an insider.

Clearly wasn’t claiming to be an insider, just that an insider of the sport sometimes gives snippets of things he’s heard on his somewhat more private podcast, and when people take that information and spread it, naturally he’ll be more hesitant to do so in the future.

Apart from that, if someone asked you not to share something outside of the space you heard it for a day or two it’s just common decency to do that.

I would just love to know exactly what was said to Blair that made him throw it all away.  It doesn’t sound like he was going to be fired.  So I would assume that he was still going to be part of the team.  Maybe with Weege and the emergence of JT, there were too many chefs in the kitchen?  Maybe Blair didn’t want to go back trackside, viewing it as being passed over? Was it an ego thing?  Not a knock on Blair.  We are all fallible.  Just curious to know what was said specifically.

I did wait a day or two.....I didn't jump on here when I listened to it and share it in spite.  It's a ridiculous thought that it was private in any way.  Just comical.

Sounds like he didn't like being on a leash in a corporate role and trying to go about it on his own.  I think it's super cool and hope it works out.  Like I said, I question if there is enough demand in a relatively small sport, but it amazes me podcasts can generate the revenue they do so maybe he will crush it.

Now all we need to complete this thread is news of DB becoming a Stark Varg brand ambassador.

Sorry.  Theycallmebryan already got that gig #shill

Isn't it logic that he left. He and Will Hahn helped Cole Davies last year with the SX Futures. Today the kid put down a 6th time in qualifying, became second in the heat and finished eight after an equal impressive comeback as that one from Haiden Deegan. Only one problem, he did it on a STAR Yamaha. Being youth scout and coordinator can be fun but not if one team has limitless resources and you are helping them and leave empty handed. But same goes for Pro Circuit Kawasaki...

Sounded like he was told that he was just a talking head, that he was nothing special.

If they aren’t worried about a rider dropping out of the series I’m sure the powers that be couldnt care less about a talking head.

They did replace him in about 2.5 seconds and didn’t miss a beat….

How so? Truly asking. I don't see much issue with it. If there's a market for it and he can make a little money then I don't see much issue with it. It's not absurdly priced and beats moving your elementary age kid to a motorhome at a training facility.

Yep, he moved from LA to Tennessee. After a year living in TN he said "this place sucks, the riding scene sucks, we are moving to NC" which is where he is now (that was well thought out).  As a Tennessean, I hope the door didn't hit him in the ass too hard 😉
